Been looking at remaned carbs for a '71 with automatic tranny. Whats the difference in these Motorcraft carbs that make the price fluctuate and will one of them work better than the other linkage wise? I looked it up for a '73 and it seemed to be the cheapest that might work for an automatic tranny. Figured it might work better than the one for a '71 since the linkage might be set up for manual. Any input will help.?

Let me know...thanks,

All the links showed the same generic page.
I'd say that theres usaully little differance in carbs but as far as price goes it may just be that certain carbs have more than one application so there are more availible so the price goes down.
There can be minor jetting differances due to emmissions equipment found on later vehicles so the 73 carb might be a bit to lean on a 71 engine. But you can rejet so not a big issue. I'd go with the 73 carb for the auto tranny if your needing the auto linkage.
