Wheel back spacing/offset for superduty axles

In the process of adding 2004 superduty axles on my 73 Bronco build. Curious to know what others with this setup are using for wheels?

I ordered some beadlocks 17x9. 4.5” backspacing with -12 offset. OEM wheels for a superduty are close to 0 offset.

With the axles wider than stock I wasn’t sure if I should get a wheel with 5 inches or more of BS to prevent the axles from being even wider.

I would do more, like 5 or 5.5”. I see your in Oregon, that 1 or 2” is going to be important. I always try to keep overall width down to 81” so it fits easy on a trailer. Most car haulers are 82-83” between the fenders.

Thanks for the reply. I narrowed the axles down to 66” but if 5” BS would help ensure fit on the trailer l should see if i can change my order.

You should be ok with what you have if you narrowed to 66”. My axles are 65” and I’m right at about 81-82” overall.
