All,

I have a fully functional stock speaker! It works great!

I do not have the original, rectangular, foam protectant that went between the speaker & the grill in the dash.

Does anyone konw where I could get one of these? Is it worth tracking down an OEM speaker? Does anyone know who might manufacture old looking speakers???

Any/all help will be greatly appreciated!

One of the vendors had speaker that was a direct bolt in replacement for the stocker. It was a dual voice coil so you could get full stereo sound out of it if you needed to. I thot it was Duff's who had it but it's not on their web site.
Originally there was just a thin cloth screen between the speaker and the grill. If you cut up someones nylons and glued a rectangle in place it would look pretty stock.

I just took mine out yesterday, and it was just like skuz said, a complete bolt in unit guessing 4x4 plastic box with wire mesh cover then some material that looks like toe sack. I went to a fabric store and found some headliner material wich is about 1/4 in foam with material on it, and they also had the material similar to the toe sack cover. Real cheap in price. ;)

You could use a scotch brite pad and spray paint it black like I did. Looks good
