Well, im still having problems with my oil pressure. replaced the oil pump, still no luck. Could be my bearrings are gone. Im burning about 1 quart per hundred miles. Is it my valve seals? could this be where im losing all my pressure? Im definately blowing it out my exhaust. You can see it when you start up. Another thing i noticed was when i parked my bronco on a hill....oil is leaking out pretty bad from somewhere behind the pan it looks like. Its not the pan itself, rear seal? I have no clue...any help would be great. I want to take this thing on a 5 hr road trip by november 1st.

The damn thing runs great, just has a slight knocking, when i stop after i have been driving for a while. Just dont feel like getting stuck anywhere. But im a little short on money to throw a new motor in it. A few people told me to drive it until it does, if it does. Then i will have no choice. Its not my main vehicle, so its not too bad. Should i check the compression on the cylinders? should i take a look at the valve stem seals?

ok it sounds like my bronco now. i have the factory 302 with god knows how many miles on it. it has a slight knock to it after it warms up. still runs great. has about 40#s of pressure at first, but then it drops to little over 10#s. i too am short on cash, but i am gettin ready to put the motor and tranny in. just find you a good block, and when you have the money buy the stuff piece by piece. and eventually youll get there. i started out with an old 4bbl intake my dad had out in the front seat of a junk car. now i have heads, headers, block, cam, and block. im gettin there. just takes time, by christmas i should have everything i need to put the motor in (thats the plan anyway)<br>

302's are a dime a dozen at the wrecking yard. I would go find yourself a motor that was running in a wreck, buy it and slap it in until you have enough $$$ to build a nice motor. I wouldn't take it on a road trip if it is burning oil like that. To me, that is just asking for trouble. If something happens out in BFE, it will end up costing you good $$$ that you could have put in the EB in the first place. That is just my line of thinking. I bet you could get a good wrecking yard motor in that thing for about $200-300. Sounds like your problem is definitely valve seals and bearings and probably more. It sounds like the motor is just tired after many miles of reliable service.
