right now ive got a 640 cfm double pumper that i have got to get off my truck. Ive got a decently built 302, and am looking for maximum possible gas mileage. I drive my truck daily and never take it offroad. Any carb suggestions are GREATLY appreciated, thanks guys!

EFI would probably give you the best gas mileage. My suggestion for a carb (for gas mileage) would be about a 450 CFM Edelbrock but your going to have just as many people tell you Holley or Quadrajet. I'm assuming the engine is a relatively stock 302. No matter which carb you go with try to keep the CFM in the ballpark of 450.

I have a holley 470 truck avenger and love it. I wouldn't recommend it for gas mileage though. i have a holley book the recomends model #4360 & 4160 for fuel economy. The 4160 is 600cfm and is probably too big.

I get 13-16 with my holley 600 I have a road demon jr 525 that I'm getting ready to try out but I dont really expect any gain. except maybe around town. Just about all carbs will get you about the same mileage if they are jetted correctly. You didnt say what you are getting now. Also camshaft, tire size, and gear ratio and your driving style has a lot to do with mileage. I wouldnt expect to get much more than 12-17 in a bronco. Some people claim to get over 20mpg with EFI 1 or 2 with a carb. but they are the exception and there's only a few that do. most find that even with EFI they are getting about the same mileage as they did with a carb. so the price of a EFI conversion is usually not worth it for a street only vehicle unless you just happen to have all the stuff just laying around.

i run the road demon 625 not the jr one on my pretty built 302, i love it, run awsome and i get 15mpg with 4.11s and 35 going 65mph, i really like the new demon carbs just like a holley but you can dail them in better and they are little better materials i think, ive had a holley 600 vac secondaries before, i got 20mpg goin 55 once with 33x10.50s that was right after i rebuilt it, but it was good too, and real easy to work on.

I am goign to jump on here so you guys know a little bit more about Justin's rig to make some good suggestions. His motor has aluminium heads, aluminium intake, aftermarket camshaft and lifters. Its pretty well built up. He just picked up his new 33's and is running 3.50 gears. What else does everyone suggest?
