As the title suggests. I'm needing to get o2 sensors for the 98 explorer swap into the 77. I have bosch 15717 for both sides, but now I'm seeing conflicting info as to these being correct.
The connectors are different but will plug in. I'm specifically needing to know if these are the right sensors i.e. left and right upstream. I'm not running downstream sensors, only the upstream.
Or will these work correctly?
Thanks
Greg

Bosch #BS 15716 and #BS 15717 O2 sensors are the last ones I purchased... The difference in Part #'s is the length of the plug tail.

From a EFI Guy post below...

"Upstream O2 sensors are green for 96-98. They are grey for 99-01. I label them B1PS and B2DS for Bank 1 passenger side and Bank 2 driver side. They will come out of the rear of the engine harness.

Rear O2s sensors are blue for all years and labeled with Bank number and S2 indicating sensor 2 (downstream). They will come from the trans harness if you are using the 4r70w.

There are rare cases that I will use blue plugs for upstream, this usually only happens if your 96-98 plugs are destroyed. But, when I do this I give you further instructions in an email to slice the indexing tab off of your sensor with a razor blade.

You can use 2 left or 2 right sensors if you want, the part numbers only change the length of wire on the sensor. I just would not mix upstream and downstream part numbers."

Based on all that, I think your good. Doug.

15717 is listed as an upstream sensor so you should be fine with those.
