Why do I always have problems with this Vendor

I have had a problem nearly every time I have ordered from one certain vendor. Every single time I have placed a large order I have later gone to check my status and see that "items are back ordered". You would think that if one item in a large order is on back order the vendor would either ship the rest of the order or at a minimum contact you to see what you would like done. Not once have I ever received a courtesy call or email from this particular vendor. I have always had to track the information down personally and have been treated like an ass when I called the vendor to complain. Fortunately, I can usually get what I need elsewhere, but sometimes they are the only vendor close to this side of the country who can get me the product in the time frame I need it for a reasonable shipping price (if it isn't back ordered).

I also think we should be able to relay the bad experiences, as well as the good ones, that we have with vendors. If the particular vendor doesn't like the criticism, maybe they will provide better service. I am guessing there is likely one vendor that would take most of the abuse. All this said, every other one of our main vendors has been outstanding and I have not hesitated to publicly praise them for their great service and support to our community. I just wish one particular vendor wouldn't take our business for granted.

Just to be clear, the part was shipped on Jan. 5 and you posted on Jan. 14... take Sunday off the table (no service) and it had only been 8 days since it shipped. I say "only" because it IS US postal %)

Point being, I've waiting longer than that for USPS. It sucks waiting for your stuff to show up, but... your vendor should REALLY offer UPS or FedEx for their customers!

Good luck, man!

I don't think this is mine but there is some things that everyone should know. UPS sucks, USPS sucks more. UPS has tracking and insurance. USPS does too until you try to use either then you are in trouble. UPS is very hard to get refunds from, USPS is impossible. UPS comes to my store every day and picks up packages. USPS does not, we have to go to the post office. USPS is cheaper for small packages. We charge what UPS or USPS charges us to ship your package. There is no money in this for us either way. If we ship UPS and a package is lost we have some hope of getting our money back (but not the shipping)and it is easier to set the package on our dock than to take it to the post office and the UPS tracking numbers work so we use UPS. Unless a customer asks for USPS. When a package leaves us UPS or USPS we have no control over what happens to it, how it get there or if/when. When you check on your package and we shipped UPS we can go on line right then and find out where it is. If you ask for USPS, all we can do is wait. Anyway, what I am saying is MAYBE the vendor is not at fault here? And that may be a good reason to not bash vendors?

Just another thing to consider. It could have been stolen. If the package is larger than what will fit in your mailbox, they usually put it on your porch. At least my mailman does. Fed Ex and UPS do the same unless a signature is requested by the shipper. I have had items stolen that were shipped USPS and UPS. The post office shipment theft was witnessed by a neighbor ( Several Years ago ) The UPS shipment that was stolen was delivered to my house by a friend of mine ( A UPS driver like me ) He says he delivered it to my house and I believe and trust him. Theft is not very common but it does happen. If that is the case, its a shitty deal all around. Its not your fault, not the vendors fault, and really not the shipping companies fault. You blame the the vendor, vendor blames the shipper, and shipper says " we delivered it ". Hope it shows up Tuesday.

well like I said before when a item is ordered and paid for and that cost includes shipping well till I have that item in my hot little hands it has not been delivered. now about the pissy attitude over the phone or email, three strikes and your out is what I would tell them.
you should deal with WH nice folks, knowledgeable, and care about your business.

I have had the exact issue with the vendor in my situation.....probably the same vendor. And I agree with you ALL of the other vendors have bent over backwards to give me great service, it's this ONE vendor that gives me problems EVERYTIME.

It was suggested that if I continue to have problems with this vendor, don't use them anymore. I was only giving the the opportunity to redeem themselves, but after this last issue I will never use them again.

Once you start thinking that you are better than the customers you serve, you service starts declining and repeat customers no longer use you, word gets around and soon your sales decline and you loose business!

I used a Bronco vendor for the first time recently. I placed the order online and received a confirmation email showing a shipping estimate. The email indicated I would be getting a separate email from UPS with tracking information. I didn't get that email so I sent a reply asking if it shipped UPS. I then got another email stating what I thought was the actual charge. The vendor then replied that the parts shipped USPS. Then I got another email from the vendor for a few dollars. I replied asking what that charge was and they said it was for additional shipping. So I'll have two charges on my credit card. Total shipping for a couple small parts (door handle, seal, oring) was $9.55 priority mail! If they were going to use USPS, why not ship using a small flat rate box which is $4.95, also priority mail. On top of that, I paid made-in-the-usa price for a made-in-china door handle. I think I'll stick with the local Bronco parts place and just make the drive.

As the ownere of a company that ships and receives a lot of stuff..small and large, I have to agree almost 100% with what Chuck said. I say 'almost' because we even go so far as to specifically prohibit our suppliers from shipping to us anything via USPS. We certainly never use USPS for anything going out..ever.

I called the Postmaster and complained last week, I often find that my monthly electric and water bills fail to come. We sent a letter to Santa from our mailbox to our mailbox that never showed! The Postmaster acted as if we did something wrong not them. Government workers, overpaid and under skilled; however what do they have to work with? Cutbacks are killing good workers. Heck I just ordered lunch and sent a guy to pick it up for me, it came back wrong! What else is new...

Chuck-Just to be clear, you definitely are not the vendor I always have problems with. I have had nothing but the best of service when I have dealt with BC Broncos.

Mark-More than likely we are complaining about the same vendor. It is unfortunate since they are one of the closest vendors for shipping time. I guess I will just have to plan better so I can use one of the other vendors who actually seem to care if their customers are satisfied.

Regardless of the method of shipping, it sounds like the customer service was poor and now maybe they were lieing to passify you. I say you out the vendor.

Mark, it's a long thread so maybe I missed it, but have you called the vendor and talked to the owner about your issue?

I have talked to their customer service, but not with the owner. I'm done with this vendor and will not be ordering anything from them again!

I'm just frustrated that all of the good vendors got dragged into this issue for the sake of not bashing the vendor that it actually happened with.

I have received a few PM,s about problems with poor customer service others on this forum have had, and it's the same vendor!

I don't believe any vendor should feel like they are better than any of their customers. You should treat the little guy as well as your best customer!

Having 4 broncos, the Lord and my credit card company know that I've ordered more than my share of parts with all (I'm pretty sure) of the vendors. I've had problems rarely, even with well known ones that get nothing but praise on this site. The so-called "untouchable's" but never felt the need to cry publicly about it. I pick up the phone and get the problem solved politely.

Usually, 99% of the time, if a vendor's staff is rude or unhelpful on the telephone, it's a direct result of being treated rudely by the customer first.
