Wild Horses HD axle retainer sanity check

Installed them today. Thought they be a closer fit around the axle. But, they are retaining the axle well, at least trying to pull out by hand. No movement.

It's a '74, 10" drum, big bearing. Look good to everyone?

Most of the aftermarket retainer plates are sized to accommodate the external oil seal used with the SET20 tapered roller bearings, so when you're running the standard sealed ball bearing, you'll have that visible gap. You only need to retain the outer race of the bearing, so all's good.

It's good. The plate keeps the outside of the bearing in place. The bearing retainer keeps the bearing on the axle shaft.
