Hello all,
Wondering if anyone has run into this…. New cowl parts and new windshield frame…. Lined up great left to right. Angle looks good. Problem is, the bolt that would go it though the dash to the windshield frame doesn’t line up at all. The hole/nut in the frame is too high. I’m attaching a few picks. Anyone got any ideas???

Your windshield frame looks to be right. You probably should just adjust the hole a little. Below is a pic from mine. Disregard my uneven door gap. Haha.

Thanks for your replies!!! Not sure I have enough room to slot it up enough without going through the top of the brace material, but now that I think about it, I don’t guess we’re really trying to hold anything down…. Just stabilizing front to back…

Based on my factory setup your hinge is mounted wrong. the round portion of my hinge is mounted outside of the cowl and hood. "Not sandwiched between"
the gap is much smaller because of this. Sorry hope this helps

This is true, I failed to notice that. The original windshield frame and cowl (very rusty) on my '69 had the hinge protruding, and I installed the new parts to match that. If both holes in the frame are high like the one pictured, moving the hinge forward a bit might be enough. Of course, if you welded the hinge down like I did, that will be a big pain.

Yeah, I definitely noticed that in my setup, but the hinge came preassembled to the windshield frame. Not sure if there is anything I can do with it... Anything easy that is. But I'll take a look at the frame side attach points when I get home and see how it is done...

That's terrible that they assembled it that way. Can you send it back or take it back for another ? Mines even farther out than the black one up above. Mine has
the round part snugged up to the outside of windshield frame but no part of the round hinge is under the windshield frame.

Your hinge actually might be OK. If you look closely, the leading edge of the frame intersects just behind the center point of the hinge pin. Yours looks pretty close to that. However, your entire frame looks like it is setting too far back. Can you move the entire frame forward a bit to get the hinge pin section to hang over the cowl lip slightly? IOW, can you slide the entire frame forward?

I thought about moving the entire windshield frame forward a bit, but my angle when the windshield is up is really good right now…. Seems that would tend to angle it back further at the top. These parts are new, but I’ve had them for quite a while…. I guess I could call Wildhorses and see if they have any suggestions…
