Wires to License Plate Light

We are installing the license plate bracket on a new fiberglass tailgate for our build. Where to the wires feed into the tailgate? Do we need to drill a small hole just above the bottom tailgate pivot?

they feed in right where the wires are coming out the bottom....you already have the hole
