13" at 800 RPM shows it has a bit of a cam in it.
I am a little confused by the 50 oz-in flywheel requirement. I would double check that he had the engine rebalanced with the 50 oz-in specs. If he really did, go straight to an Explorer front dress and don't worry about the balancer.
You will be ditching the chrome front sump pan.
With 4.56 gears and 33" tires it will be a hoot to drive around.

The cam appears to be a little big it might not perform well in the mountains or slow trails but would be good in the dunes where you can rev it up. worst case you could always swap the cam out I would look at something around 272 duration not much more. I would also question the 50 oz balance there is really no reason that I can think of to rebalance a 351W. overall once the cam is swapped and with around a 600cfm carb you should have a decent running engine with around 300 hp at a much more useable rpm range.

Seems like a lot of stroke motors are going into broncos lately so I thought this one would be good. I will give it a try and hopefully I do not have to change the cam. Can anyone shed more light on the 50oz, I am not sure what exactly this means or what i need to do?

Early motors were 28oz's in balance, Later motors were 50oz's in balance. If your gonna run 50 oz's in balance you will have to change your stock flywheel to match the harmonic balancer.

Late model 5.0's were 50oz, but I think 351's have always been 28oz.....Can't think why they would change it out unless the motor was more specifically targeted to late model Mustangs. If that's the case, you'll want to make sure the balancer & flywheel/flexplate are of the 50oz family.

Bakersfield Crate Engines builds a lot of the roundy-rounder race motors used here in Bakersfield. Pretty hot stuff. They are dyno broke in and ready to go when you get them.
I'm saving up for one.

The add did say it was for a mustang and the guy backed out of the deal. What model car should I tell a parts shop that I need a flexplate for. I believe my existing 351w has a 28oz flexplate.

I've toned it down since our highschool days. Heck I even rented a car the other day and didn't burn out. %)

Paddles are gone but I may buy some more. I am just hoping it works ok on the slow stuff but it sounds like it will be okay.

Will my Holley 650 work okay on this? I am basically looking for a hot rod type setup that can still cruise.

Ok, I hate to bring this up but I have to point this out.. for $2500, it should have roller rockers, and from looking at the pics of the heads, it doesn't look like those valves would handle another rebuild in the future (that is from pics, and pics are decieving sometimes)..

Please don't get me wrong, I am betting it will be a great engine and a real screamer for sure.. I am not saying you got hosed.. that is a decent price for a relatively complete engine that has been dyno'ed and broken in already.. I just notice those things and wanted to point them out..

Get us a vid of it running once you get it installed :)

I'd double check with the seller it should have 28oz balance just like your current 351. And Yes your 650 cfm carb will work just check the jetting you dont want to be running lean and burn a piston or valve.
