Well here is the website www.cumminsbronco.com

I would like to hear the feedback and let me know what yall think. If you see I am in the wrong post up if you like the site please also let me know.

Right now I am in the process of trying to find someone a retailer to advertise on the site the 4BT motor and a retailer for the NV4500 trannies. That way it would be easier to for people to do the conversion...if they had a retailer to buy the motor from...instead of trying to hunt through junkyards and stuff. I had to hunt and peck for my motors I would like it to be easier for whoever else to find their motor.

Also coming as soon as I can get to it...will be a link to the 4BT yahoo group so people can get more information than I can provide.

Please look and lemme know.

It looks great. There are several free forums you can add to your site. They work great and are easy to use. I just hate the Yahoo thing, Sorry!

If you need a push toward some, let me know.....I will ask my brother he has tried a bunch.

I love the idea of the 4BT ;D

It's a free country. I guess determining right or wrong is moral issue that you have to decide on for yourself.

It makes me wonder if you are not doing this for any personal gain, why you didn't just do some tech articles and post them here, the exposure to the people that need the info would probably be a lot more.

Yeah the Yahoo thing was new to me also. But there is a wealth of info. there for someone to use to help in their project. I hope to get it added in the next week or so school keeps me busy though...this is just side fun....

Eventually I will start a forum so people could share Bronco info, 4BT info. and just general tech info.

Well I haven't gotten to doing anything with the bronco yet so I really have no tech. info to post....but as I get more I will post it up.

Tech articles seem to get mixed in with everything else and eventually lost to the bottom of the stack. It happens with almost every forum I am a member of. With the website...its always on top if you need it you can even add it to your favorites. And with just posting tech articles you have to repost to every site you are at. That and its hard for people to share the info. Sometimes I know you can't read some forums unless you are a member.

And for those like who have the info. already first hand...they can put it up on the site and instead of having to retype everything each time or repost pics, diagrams, specs, etc. each time they can just link to their info. on the page.

The reason that a link to the tranny or engine being sold is a problem because:

1) Arsco in Chicago is the only vendor who consistently has used 4BT's and they want $2750 plus shipping

2) A rebuilt motor from Cummins including the core charge is about $5500.

3) The NV 4500 is no longer being manufactured, so the new ones are expensive and the used ones are also really expensive.

I am just saying all of this because one or two specific links to vendors for either the tranny or motor could quickly become obsolete as availability changes. Hunting down the motor and tranny is still sort of required. Your links will make it a lot easier, but they could change regularly.

Cool site idea. I don't know why everyone has such a stick up their ass about it. Get some tech articles up and I'll read 'em. Don't mind the guys here who get butthurt over you trying to make information quick and convenient. If you want to make a buck or two off it, that doesn't hurt my feelings either (especially since I have the total opposite of a diesel Bronco).

Good work and keep the articles flowing.

Scott,

Thanks for the info. I saw a guy on Yahoo 4Bt the other day selling rebuild 4BT's I have e-mailed him to see if he wanted to sell what engines he has there but haven't heard back yet.

I saw a place on Ebay outta AZ that has the NV4500 rebuild for $1K or so with a core and shipping charge. Seems ok if the tranny is a good rebuild. ?:? I have also e-mailed them.

I may give that company in Chicago a shout. Do you have thier e-mail by chance?

Just trying to help narrow the search a little bit on finding the parts. LOL mine came kinda weird....one of those I know a guy, that has a cousin, who's brother, etc.....LOL

Is the guy on Yahoo out here in CO? If so, that guy is someone that should be avoided at all costs. The price he wants is more than what Cummins wants for a rebuild if you have a core. Avoid him at all costs.

It's heavy as sh.t. To put my engine back into the bronco after doing the frame and all, I put the motor and trans in place and put the body over that. Lifting the motor and trans gets really risky. I am lucky I didn't break a chain or anything.
