• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

History

The truck is an original U13 Roadster that has spent most of it’s life in New Mexico and is rust free. I purchased the truck in 2004 and have done extensive work to it and enjoyed it very much. My last big remaining project was paint and some minor body work but unfortunately I have run out of time and energy to keep this project going. I have the original transmission, front axle, rear axle, roadster door inserts and many small parts that will be included with the sale. I have receipts, documentation, diagrams, and schematics covering the work that’s been done.

Engine

  • 1969 351W Windsor, full rebuild with low miles.
  • DIYAutoTune Microsquirt EFI controller that handles both fuel and ignition.
  • All engine management wiring is done with Metri-Pack weather pack connectors, GXL wire, and is designed to be water tight. It is completely separate from the original wiring for reliability.
  • Tubular shorty headers
  • Custom 2 into 1 exhaust
  • Live AFR readout with AEM digital gauge
  • Flex-o-lite 7 blade fan mounded on thermal clutch with 4-row radiator and shroud to keep engine cool on the trail.
  • Notched oil pan to clear front differential pumpkin
  • RuffStuff bushing based fabricated motor mounts

Brakes

  • Hydroboost power assist
  • Stock Bronco front disk brakes
  • Wild Horses Explorer disk conversion in rear

Steering

  • Delphi steering box conversion gives super tight, modern steering.
  • Custom heavy wall DOM tie rod over conversion using Ruff Stuff 1 Ton TRE Kit.
  • Custom lower Steering assembly using flaming river U-joint to eliminate any slop from steering wheel to steering box input

Transmission and Driveline

  • NV3550 5 Speed Transmission (bought new)
  • New Centerforce II Clutch Kit from Wild Horses
  • Wild Horses front and rear driveshafts for 3.5” Lift
  • Hydraulic clutch system using Howe slave cylinder and master cylinder

Rear Axle

  • Custom built rear end with all brand new parts. This axle only has about 200 miles on it.
  • Brand new Wild Horses “Super 9” Big Bearing housing
  • 35 Spline Axles
  • ARB air locker
  • Daytona Style pinion support and nodular 3d member housing from Strange Engineering

Front Axle

  • 1977 Bronco D44 front axle with factory disk brakes
  • New 4340 Chromoly Axles w/Spicer 760 U-joints from Wild Horses
  • New 4.10 Gears
  • New Detroit Locker

Suspension

  • Heavy wall DOM trac bar repositioned to match length and angle of drag link to eliminate bump steer.
  • Wild horses 3.5” Pre-runner coils in front
  • Wild Horses 3.5” leaf pack in rear
  • Wild horses tubular shock hoop in front
  • Rancho RS9000 adjustable shocks

Body

  • Rust free original body
  • I have the Roadster door inserts, soft doors, and bikini top
  • Paint is rough but there

Interior

  • Leather seats from late model Ford Fusion
  • 6 point roll cage

Other

  • Smittybilt XRC winch stealth mounted behind stock bumper
  • BFG TA K02 33” tires with very low miles
  • Custom rear bumper with swing away tire carrier

The Bad

  • There’s a cutout in the sheet metal where the (since removed) auxiliary tank filler neck passed through.
  • There’s a small bit of rust on the passenger side rear of the hard top as well as on top of the hard top.
  • I have the door weather stripping but removed it because it had a poor glue bond
  • There is some sheet metal work needed on the hood where it was drilled for hood pins.
  • The Hydroboost master cylinder needs a smaller reservoir so it can be properly clocked
  • The oil pan needs to be dropped and the Fel-Pro one piece molded gasket needs to be re-set to stop a small oil leak
  • The Centerforce clutch has an occasional rattle to it. I’ve read this is likely due to the small weights on the spring fingers. I don’t believe it is anything other than a nuisance.
  • Parking brake is not hooked up
