When we visited, in Fairbanks we drove to see Denali National Park and stopped halfway at a roadhouse called "Skinny Dick's Halfway Inn." Lots of schtuff to buy with two bears having fun ;D Wish I still had the koozie. Check their website for the history of the place and to purchase.
We drove by there but didn't stop, we were with my parents and it was like National Lampoons Vacation, had to stick to a schedule. My wife and I are going back to Alaska by ourselves someday.
... yES WE ATE AT THAT ROAD HOUSE INN .. Isn't that the one that's has the same Sourdough Pancakes starter since the 1849's Gold Rush.
.. Man I hope we can make it back up.
