I noticed when I run my 2 sets of offroad lights they run dimmer when at idle. I also ran them in hi fog/clouds for a few hours. I had a hard time starting the truck after I shut it off after the trail time. Fortunately it started up after a slow try at it.

I am thinking I need a high output alternator!

Any input on this? Does it make sense!??;D

Are the expensive?

Wow..I just sold a 3G to Rick1b about 2 weeks ago and sent it to him in Alaska. You might ask him how it's working out for him since he just did it. I had bought it but then went with the full serp set up and had to buy a 4G. I bought both from alternator pros in Arizona based on some recommendations from here. They were both reasonable..$130-145ish with shipping. I should get mine back this week.

It is an easy upgrade with lots of benefits.

You want the 8.25" ears clocked at 8 o'clock if you are using your stock bracketry.
