Next target is to shoot hood inside color, weld hinges on and bond a strip of metal that Migs cut for me along the front to cover acne along hood leading edge. That’s fridays mission. Saturday I will demo part of the paint booth and prep for final color on outside of body

Now back to work to pay for all the painting supplies

A tired and sweaty Hank

This weekend was all about cleaning and organizing ahead of final paint. I took down the single bay paint boof and converted garage into one large one. The lessons learnt first time around made do better results this time around.

I did manage to scuff most of the body as well in prep for hi build. I will pick away at that.

Also got membrane installed on the inner door skins. Seemed a shame to cover up the pretty paint :)

Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy so I think I’m going to finish hooking up all the brake lines and mock up a cold air intake for the engine

I never got to the brakes or cold air intake. Masking for seam sealer took much longer than expected but I finished that tonight and squeezed out a tube of sealer.

Guide coat inside the tub, Now someone either likes to sand or is getting pretty serious. That just plain make my back hurt just looking at it.

Sanding turns out to be great therapy for the shoulder issues i inflicted upon myself this past winter 🙄

Honestly there was enough overspray and other surface issues to warrant the extra sanding

So I sanded my butt off Saturday and got it like 80% done. My buddy showed up at 630 this morning for painting day. Rob and I wet sanded another 3 hours before deciding it was good enough to paint. We cleaned for another hour before painting. In all we put in 11 hours today, resulting in......

All the attention to detail on the body work was so worth it in the end

Major milestone achieved today!!!!

Now on to painting the engine bay.

The heavy rain and constant heat/humididity have been a pain the past week or so. I managed to shoot paint in engine bay etc yesterday. Some cleanup to do but decent results.

Also have been rebuilding hydroboost unit this week. Really pretty straight forward but some tricks.
