My 72 half cab build.

Drove the bronco around the block,(2 miles) 3 times with a couple issues. C4 trans is not downshifting properly, and I kicked down into passing gear moving about 20mph and it spun, when I left out of it it seamed to get stuck between gears. The trans was rebuilt 10 years ago and this is its first use. Are there any adjustment that will need made??

I got a registration and insurance on Monday and the wife and I put about 15 miles on the bronco with no issues.

Got some issues. About 50 miles on it now, and its running hot, and the trans is not down shifting at stops. Go to pull out and it is still in 3rd gear.
Also have a couple of coolant leaks. I think I'll change out the 195 degree thermostat for a 160 Robert Shaw thermostat.
The toe is set at 1/8" in and it is hard to keep going straight down the road. I don't want to go beyond 50mph.

The governor is sticking keeping it from downshifting. I’ve found that to be a common issue after sitting for long periods. It is possible if you keep driving it that it will clear up, may not but I’d tinker with other things that need addressed and worry about the trans if it doesn’t clear up, just manually pull it into 1st gear when it doesn’t shift on its own. Good news is it doesn’t have to come completely out to fix it.

Just disassemble and cleaning. It has a valve, a few springs and fly weights. It’s hanging up from small debris, small burr or a rusty spot. They tend to be finicky on rebuilds, common issue and not terrible to fix.

took a while, about 4 years but since 2009. Just finished it at the end of april 2022. Took a break on it from 2013 to december 2021.
