Bronco Guru
Bought my 3rd bronco this week (still have not finished the 1st 2).
This bronco was listed on the dallas craigs list on and off for the last 6 months. I at first scoffed at it since it had been converted to a hunting rig, but noticed that it had roadster doors this last time it was listed. Talked to the owner and he said it was 1 of the rare U13 roadsters. Went and looked at it and confirmed it was indeed a U13. The PO sent me a vin decoder and this is what it showed.
Model Type- Open Body Roadster w/ Standard - 3900 lb. GVW
Production Month- October 1965
Color & Color Code- Rangoon Red - PPG 71243
Seat Configuration- Bench Seat
Delivery District- Dallas
Engine- 170 cid, 6 cylinder (1v Carb. Venturi)
Transmission- 3 Speed Manual - Column Mounted Shifter
Axle- 4.11:1 - Ford 2780 lb. Standard
Assembly Plant- Michigan Truck Plant - Standard for all 1966- 1977 Broncos
VIN is U13FL773644
Do not laugh at the pictures with the hunting rigs and all the rhino liner all over it. See that tailgate, the rhino came off real easy.
I always try and focus on what it can be, not what it is.
The Good
Mechanically very good with original power train.
Eyebrow grill
The bad
Rhino liner all
PS kick panel need replacing
Several other minor rust thru's, not sure if they will need complete replacing.
Tailgate dented bad on top
PS rear out of allignment
Missing original interior and none of the gauges work.
Question. Is there anywhere else on this bronco that I can confirm the VIN number?
