LUBr, thanks for checking in! Keep those cards and letters coming folks, the more the merrier and remember - a FABULOUS tbd prize, and no voter ID required!

Today is the day I pick up the body! As the idiom goes, more will be revealed. Should that perhaps say 'idiot' instead? Hmmm....

What? Another Bronco! Oh Yes! You can't have just one!
Dennis, actually just another Bronco hardtop, but I gotta say, it's kinda like the potato chip thing where no one can eat just one.

Wuddya want first, the good news or the bad news? Bad news? Okay. Momma had a very bad night last night and it brought about a trip to the clinic today. Wish I'd had an airsick bag along on the ride. Long wait had to cancel picking up the 1977 Bronco body because didn't have enough time left to prep the trailer. Momma felt some better after the clinic. So the good news? Didn't have time for the body but I had time to pay for it! Made a trip in truck sans trailer and dropped off ${redacted} dollars and {redacted} cents AND picked through the pieces and parts! Here's some of the treasure!

20240319_154104.jpg 20240319_154114.jpg 20240319_154138.jpg 20240319_154950.jpg 20240319_155133.jpg

Well the final parts pick up did not come to pass Thursday or Friday. Thursday had various unexpected medical tasks and errands came up and Friday had a 2-6 inches of snow forecast. They were right about the snow, and it looks beautiful, but, imho, not as beautiful as a Spring day would. But the snow did not stop Bronco progress, just 'nuther Bronco progress. So to get things rollin' a bit here again, I'm gonna post this 20240321_175929.jpg 3/4
rear pic only because it makes me happy! :) Ah, that's better! Ken (the hired gun to help button up the wiring) has been working wonders! Tach works, engine runs, normal horn works, horse whinney horn works, H4 halogens work 20240322_113744.jpg on both high and low beam, high beam indicator 20240322_113847.jpg light works, Left and right blinker indicator lights work 20240322_123210.jpg My camera click shutter click timing does NOT work, but , trust me, both turn signal indicator lights do.

So now, on to another, more impotent, matter - the 1970 Bronco body and pieces and parts and guessing game for a FABULOUS tbd prize. And the betting windows are still open for a chance to win a (did I already say it?) Fabulous tbd prize. A quick recap of participants and the wagers:

NGA $0,000.00
El Kenbong 500.00
Dave 713 1,200.00
Beau 1,500.00
SpeedeRandy 2,150.00
LUBr 2,750.00

And it's still NOT too late to get YOUR GUESSTIMATE in, remember - fabulous tbd prize! All in all, a good day of horsin' around in beautiful west Michigan!

Week-end Update: Here is the 'How's Hopin' to Happen' calendar. 1711286809726.jpeg (NOT written in stone! Momma's health and welfare comes first!) To make it work, I found a helper +/- to beautify the trailer 1711287279314.jpeg Bought a sand blaster part for a power washer from Amazart https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0842YJ84N/?tag=classicbroncos-20 Anybody have one? Like it? Ken (my Ace helper) had mentioned such a thing earlier, so I bought one for both of us. Speaking of Ken, we're (mosly Ken) still trying to bleed the brakes. Ken had a vision at 3:00 AM while up to pee that the rear brakes should be swapped side to side to put the bleed screws higher. 20240307_110626.jpg Suits me just fine, as the e-brake cables had been underneath the axle and I didn't like that. Getting back to the trailer and the blaster and the helper, fingers crossed because the helper is pretty much homeless and a vagrant and the only thing I really know about him is he is alive and willing to help. Any port in a storm, I guess. Fingers crossed and cautiously optimistic. Still on the trailer, bought brakes and new rocker/evener gizmos for the axles. Gonna have a trailer place install them and a brake controller. Btw, can anyone tell me the difference between truck tires and trailer tires? I think I know a guy who may have truck tires on his trailer. 20180917_170012.jpg Still got a fair chunk to do before we get to to done, but I think we're on the right path, 1711290543864.jpeg as long as we can avoid the lions and tigers and bears, oh my!

As to the more impotent stuff, we have two more pilgrims in pursuit of the FABULOUS tbd prize for guessing how much How paid for a top and had to take a bunch of other pieces and parts with it that he didn't need or want, As of 03/24/2024, at 11:00 AM, the tally board looks like this:

NGA $0,000.00
El Kenbong 500.00
Dave 713 1,200.00
Beau 1,500.00
Stout22 1,722.22 and not a penny more
Gnsteam 1,750
SpeedeRandy 2,150.00
LUBr 2,750.00

Pretty impressive, I'd say! Bear in mind that my taste and judgement have mostly been murky at best ever since that bump on the noggin.

That’s an awesome and ambitious calendar you have there and hoping you are completely successful. We flew Memphis to Portland OR yesterday. Going Monday towards Salem to help son put baseboards in his house. Fly back home March 30and get ready for Throwback. Bout all I can manage.

I’m a tire nazi and have no issues with LT tires on a trailer, would rather see those than most ST tires.

LT = Light Truck
ST = Special Trailer

I think the Special = specially expect random explosive failures.

There should be a 4 digit number here like example 3822. 38 is the week and 22 is the year. If they are older than 2019 they should be replaced.

I'll hafta take a peek, Steve. I know I bought them used and I don't remember when, sooo.......

That's one of the downsides of a 13 year project - I'd buy stuff thinking it a good deal at the time, and, Wham! 13 years later the gubmint makes me an outlaw, or I forgot I already had 1 or 2 or 3 of those. Good thing that I may be nearing the finish line, however you may want to interpret that. Hang in there, Bronkenn, could be just a coupla naps from now. Zzzz.....

So I got a care package today from a Blue Oval vender. 20240325_183343.jpg I think I know why they are called 'billit'. When you get the bill,
you almost $hit.it. Those are PCV fittings for the Holman/Moody valve covers 20240324_153518.jpg that, fortunately, I only bought once. Speaking of things bought long ago, I also found back the door cups 20240323_105816.jpg I bought back when Adam was just a kid. Matches the mat pretty dadgum good, I'd say.

As to the impotent thing, it's lookin' like Wednesday will be the DoD (day of delivery), so that's a good place to end the quesstimates for the FABULOUS tbd prize, so you still have time.....

Howie, glad to see she runs well! Guessing $1800 on the body, and assuming you did alright on it regardless.
