So now that I have a cut Bronco I'm going to go with 33x12.50x15's most likely BFG AT's. What are y'all's thoughts on wheel width? Should I go with 10" or 8"? If you can please provide pics with your suggestions. Thanks

I like the 8's.
IMO I like to keep the tire's underneath the fenders somewhat and the 8's are easier on the wheel bearings.
But I don't think you could go wrong with either.

I'm running 8's to keep the rim as close to center as it can, to keep the load centered over the bearings. I ran 10's on my 77 step side and had trouble with my front bearings wearing out.

I was just struggling through this last weekend and went with 10's. I scoured through a ton of posts and pics and liked the "meatier" look personally. I had 8's on my old Toyota pickup so why not try something new. Now I just have to buy and install the suspension and body lifts.

8's will leave a little bubble/bulge on the side wall. 10's will square them off a bit more. Either looks good, all depends on what you want.

I had tens, and went to eights with the same tires and while I don't like the look as well the difference in drive and ride more than offsets the looks.

I would think a 12.50 tire would ride better on a 10" rim rather than an 8". Anybody have any thought as to why Bulletman's ride quality improved with an 8" rim?

I prefer 8's for a 12.50 tire. I like the look better plus it will hold a bead better if you ever wheel and air down.

Are you thinking about look or function. The 8" will work better off road. The 10" will be more stable on the road. The next question is offset depending on brakes and look you want

8s also make the wheels look a little taller, so a 33" tire on an 8" wheel will look a little bigger than on a 10" wheel, but of course it will also look a little thinner.

That looks good fairlane514. Are those the fiberglass flares? I'm somewhat regretting using the duraflex flares from JBG which are bushwhackers. The rear flare opening is not wide enough at the front. I think I'm also going to throw some 3.5 inch coils on the front and put a block in the rear to give it a bit more lift. Someone earlier said something about 9" rims which sounds like a good compromise. I found some slots in 15x9 on JBG website that I might go with.

Yes, they are fiberglass, they were on it when I bought it. The 9 inch slotted wheels will look great and like you said be in the "middle" of the suggestions.

My pictures suck (iPhone), but my tires do fill out nicely on the 10 inch wheels.

Someone said once, when you lift it, you should also widen the stance for stability. Im sure there are arguments for both sides, but I would probably get the 10's again if had to do it over.

For over 14 years now, I have run 10's. With several different sets of 33's and now 35's ran in the sand with 8psi in the front and 6 in the rear. I have never blown a bead on standard old Ultra wheels. I have always heard the argument you can air your tires lower with 8's. I can't imagine going much lower than what I already do with the 10's.
