Window track adjust question

I just got my doors back on (lots of fun there). New glass, tracks and felt. I read and accomplished my ‘73 Shop Manual procedure (see below), and even followed the TBP YouTube video, making sure my rear track was on the correct side. The new felt has a lot of friction going up, even after dry teflon lubricant on the felt and with the regulator coil spring retained, which should help going up. When it really slows down (power windows), I can grasp both sides of the glass and shove the glass to the rear about 3/4”, more firmly into the rear channel, which helps a lot. Is there any way to adjust that extra play out of the system?

The track towards the front of the door can move between the front and back about 1/2 inch. The bottom adjustment is the forward screw on the bottom inside of the door (the rear screw being the stop bumper.) The upper adjustment is behind the door panel just below the screw that holds the wing window. I just did mine last week and they run up and down with power great. No lube used.

If you need more adjustment on the bottom of the front channel, you can try bending the L bracket. Which makes me ask, did you screw the L bracket on the correct side of the channel? It's hard not to and if you did it wrong it would actually make the window space smaller, but check everything.

I’ll take a photo of the bottom bracket and the screw positions, when I go out there later tonight. Thanks!

Here’s a picture of the passenger door bottom front bracket positioning, and the upper and lower screw positioning. I could maybe put a spacer between the bracket and the bottom track and use a longer screw, but I don’t think such an easy fix exists for the upper part of the track. The driver’s door track adjustment and positioning is similar. Both windows bind up about 2/3 of the way up.

keep adjusting its just a matter of time till you find the sweet spot. I installed all my new glass runs with all the bolts hand tight as one would say. Then i rolled the window up and down several times to "self adjust" the glass in the glass runs and stared tightening the bolts down. I also did made a few slight bends on some the pieces. Worked good.
