I have a 78-79 Tilt steering column that i'm trying to put into my 72. What wires on the tilt go to what wires on the 72?

First pic is tilt colors. second pic is 72 colors.

Do you know whether or not the donor truck for the column had a horn relay or not? Not all did, and that would possibly change the way it's wired.
But that said, you'll have some wires (Blue w/red for instance) that don't match anything. That one is for an illuminated shift indicator if an automatic.

If you have kept the automatic column shifter though, you could find a matching Blue w/red wire under your dash for the lights that would work there.

Pretty sure Viper has posted some conversion charts hereabouts, but don't have any handy links right now.
If all else fails of course, you can always use a volt/ohm meter to determine the exact function of each wire coming out of the column.

Where it might get tricky (and where Viperwolf1's or others help can be invaluable) is whether you want to use the hazard switch on your '72's dash, or the one on the '79's column.

Lots of talk and no action on my part, but at least it brings your question back to the top and maybe someone will chime in.

Good luck.

Paul
