I just brought home another bronco. I couldn't pass on this one, even though two other guys did. So along with my '69 that I've owned since '96, I bought a '71.

This guy started a frame off restoration/rebuild project and just got burned out, ran out of time, no money, and no place to finish it. He started by taking it down to the frame and sandblasted and painted everything, including axles. Here's a list of what I can tell is brand new:

4" suspension lift w/ rear springs
23 gallon tank
new brakes, lines, axle seals
new tie rods, bushings, ball joints
fresh rebuilt 302 w/ edelbrok intake, carb and bronco script valve covers (only15 miles)
rebuilt 3 spd w/ floor shifter
rebuilt t-case
new 4 core radiator
new power brake booster and master cyclinder
Painless Wiring harness
powder coated dash and door panels
new heater ducts
I'm sure there' more that I'm missing, but he told me he has over $6000 into. The body is in great shape, paint is good (was repainted by PO).

All I need to do is finish putting fenders, grille, doors, windshield. Basically all the major stuff is done. All for a smokin price. Still smiling.;D

Could I make a deal with someone? I'll tell you the price if you would post some pics for me? I know I just need to become a contributor.

I picked up a similar deal on my Bronco, I paid 7K for a fully restored and built up rolling chassis with a Ford Racing 302, Hardened C6, D20 with the Advanced Adapters low gears, a glass tub and the list goes on and on. Anyways when I saw it I jumped on it. You end up saving a lot of coin buying an abandoned project that is about half way along. It really is the best way to go, if you think that a frame off is in the trucks future, it stinks that you don't get to enjoy the truck right away, but it is really worth the hassle when you figure how much you save. The market for half finished projects is very small. Most people want to either say they rebuilt the truck from the ground up or they don't even want to fool with building a truck. That leave a slim minority that can take advantage of the economics and get a really good deal on a project. Those kind of deals give me a grin from ear to ear.

Thanks again Skiddy for posting those pics for me. Things like that is what makes this forum awesome. I forgot to mention the best part of this story is my wife actually found this guys phone number, came home from work and said I better call on this bronco. She later tells me she was wanting to surprize me with it, but since she doesn't know alot about bronco's, she decided to just let me take a look at it instead. How cool is that? It sure makes buying parts for it that much easier when she is behind it.

Joes heart wont be broken will it? I tried to talk him into it but he couldn't pull the trigger!!

I hope not. I think it was more work than he wanted. Besides, it would cut into his jet boat fund! :) I'm surprized you didn't snatch it up.
