I had my done by west Texas also. I bought it used so I don't know what it felt like before but I feel that there is still too much slop right in the center ofnthe wheel.
Im with Skiddy on this one. All i have ever heard of was PSC or WTO. both of those vendors were pretty much the same when it came down to the final cost mailed back to me. I really wanted the 4x4x2 but there were other materials and costs involved so i decided to have WTO rebuild mine. After two weeks of slow draining, I mailed mine out today USPS using their large flat rate. It weighed 33 lbs. I pd $21 with insurance of $250. I thought that was a lil high but I went through with it. This is the first time I've heard anything sorta negative about WTO.
Have you spoken to Matt at WTO? I like to believe they will do whatever to fix the problem.
Going to rebuild my box myself. From you guys who do your own also, what rebuild kit do you recommend? Also, any hidden or learned jems you would like to share about things that might be tricky or difficult. Oh, I am doing the 4x4x2 conversion.
Thanks
Scott
Here's a gem you won't find anywhere.
When you get the input stub out hold the splined end and try to turn the big ring on the other end. The ring is part of the torsion bar assembly. If you feel any slop the pin in the splined end of the stub is worn out. Sometimes you can see the pin moving. You can drive the pin out and put a new one in. I don't recommend removing the torsion bar from the stub when you do this though. The o-ring is not included in a kit and those tiny roller bearings are a pain to get back in.
This can take a lot of slop out of an otherwise good box.
Nice Tip
Whose rebuild kit do you use?
Go to O'Reilly and ask for a MasterPro 7858. It will only have one of the sector bearings though.
Viper, he is doing a 4x4x2 box so none of that will apply with those Saginaw parts.

How was mine?
Viper, any ballpark range in cost to have you do a R&R on a box? 74' box -
