Hey guys, getting close to starting a 300 fuel injected 6 swap. Its out of a 91 F150. Trying to research the wiring. I saved the harness out of the truck but not sure what to do. Try and graft it to the old one or use it all. One of my actual mechanic friends to me not to cut it. Is there a stand alone harness to make it plug and play that doesn't cost an arm and leg? I PM'd rjougee as he did this back in 03 but he may not be active here any longer. Any advice or info is appreciated. Kerry

Papitt has one in a full size bronco. An 83 I think. I took a fuel injected one out of a 93 f150 and put it in my 66. For the wiring I took the f150 harness and stripped all the chassis wiring (like the turn signals head lights and stuff) and out of the harness then used key power from the bronco and used it to power the f150 underhood junction/relay box. I need to clean up the wiring runs, I did it originally "just to get it running" and haven't gotten back to it. So basically the factory wiring harness does everything it originally did and I made my own "stand alone" harness for the efi. Don't think you'll find a pre made one for a 300-6, let alone speed density efi, not too many people swap them into things. Fitting the motor in with the efi intake required a 3" body lift or a huge cowl hood. I went with the body lift.

I did one a few years back. This is the info I used for the wiring.

.. My 300 cid is in a 1980 full size.. It's carbed still.
. But last weekend me & one of the grandsons was diving it.
.. It went to smoking 10x worse than my diesel .. I did get it back to the house. But when we popped the hood. It;d ran half the oil out of it & Blew it all across the front of the motor.
.. After popping the hood it would not start even with starting fluid . I wanted to see where the oil was coming from.
..... I love my old 300 & all week I've been looking around for a 300 in a pickup.
..........................................
. I want to keep an eye on this as I too would love to put a EFI in mine.

The 300 is a beast and will take some major massaging to the engine compartment to make it fit.

I did one about 8 years ago A LOT of work to install and fit nicely.

Today, I would put a Clifford Carb Intake on it with a FiTech. A Lot less wiring and other stuff to deal with. Will run better too.

Rguest3.. I tried to google the FiTech but nothing would come by. So what is that one.
Is it basically a throttle Body system. & What does it take to install it.
.. I want to do something to my old 1980. I missed one about 6 months ago that had a new motor n it that only had 28000 miles on it. Motor had been bought from FORD.
TRUCK HAD BEEN crashed in the rear.
... JACK ASS Ask me 750.00 for it. The guy who bought it got it for 250.00.. I was sick I'd not told him I'd give 300.00.

The are many threads here on the FiTech EFI system. Lots of info on their website as well.

The Go street EFI 400HP version has 5 wires to hookup with O2 and coolant sensors. Plumb the fuel system with an electric pump and return and that's it.

Mounts to 4B Carb intake,
