I've searched but I can't find much information on the Explorer Trim package for a 1972 Bronco. Will someone direct me to the information? I am curious as to how many Bronco Sport Explorers were made in 1972 and what was included in the packages. Thanks!

I found the information I needed, but I can't figure out how to delete my post. I don't have the option under edit.

The paint code on my 72 shows that mine is Sequoia Brown, but the Explorer information I've read states the paint was only available in Blue or Copper Metalic. Also, I did'nt see Copper as an option on the paint colors for the 72.

This is mine from 1989. I think it's copper. I made the mistake and changed the color shortly after this pic.
"Update" just checked and its color code Z hot ginger metallic/Lt Copper met

The Bronco on the American Relics site is totally incorrect for a 72.

The white stripe was only offered in 76 and 77.

The upholstery materials and patterns and colors offered changed several times over the years as well. Neither are correct for their 72 either.

I make and sell authentic Explorer stripe kits.

Lighting can be tricky but I think mine was a different shade than yours. I think mine looked more copper.

Yeah, I think yours had more red in the color than mine. How did you get the picture of mine to post? I could only get the link to post. Thanks

Would a Explorer ever come with stock parchment seats? Thank you, Slim.

That is not an original half cab (it has a U15 VIN).

Not an original Bronco bench seat either

If Broncos with the Explorer package only came in blue or copper, why does mine have a pait code of R (Sequoia Brown)?

Different year explorers came in different colors but i believe that the explorer sport option was in 72 only and only abailable in durango tan. Someone may know more than me but there was a big discussion on this several years ago

Because yours is a 72. Those other colors were later offerings.

The upholstery was different on 72 as well, with a brown vinyl with multiple brown tone stripe pattern cloth insert.

73 used an "Indian Blanket" pattern cloth insert and vinyl which was color coordinated to the paint (orange, blue, red)

Here's some NOS Explorer material and original door panels I recently sold for an orange 73 and a pic of one showing the now nearly unobtainable orange tint floor mat.

Their were also blue, red and green tinted mats, all nearly impossible to find now.

Green mat??? Never seen or heard of the green one before. What package would have had a green mat?

Actually, I might be mistaken on that. I seem to recall seeing one somewhere years ago, but wondered when I typed that since it does not match a color for the Explorer. Perhaps it was a blue one I had seen or a parchment that had been sprayed with vinyl dye?

(I'm on my PC now, so my screen name is different. For some reason that Tapatalk app made me create a new log in which ended up creating a new account on my phone).
