I'm no help either - I put one between the fenders.

Yep, just the tire covers had a similar appearing one. No emblems.
But I think most I've seen retrofitted were below the Bronco script on the front fenders. Plus a few closer to the front near where the engine displacement emblem would be (if present).

Thanks Paul, that's what I remember seeing them up front and under the Bronco Emblem. I would like to see pictures please.

I KNOW they we're not original equipment on Early Bronco's. This is for my trail truck.

I wonder why the Sport Bronco got the cool bucking horse on the fender emblems, and the more expensive Ranger model got the plain old Bronco emblem?

My guess is the Sport came first and was an upgrade to the standard Bronco.

The Rangers generally did get the Sport badge, IF they also had the Sport package.
So a Ranger could have had either one. But I'd have to say that of the Rangers I've seen, probably 90% had the Sport emblem.

Maybe it was automatic unless you did the stripe-delete, or the trim-delete option?
Dunno, but yes, the Sport package (or at least it's badging) came out well before the Ranger package.

The "Sport" package and the "Ranger" were two separate décor packages that couldn't be mixed. Originally, Rangers never had the "Sport" badge. I have seen some Rangers with the Sport fender badges, but they were added because the owner liked the way they looked.

Ok, interesting. So I heard wrong then. You could not order a "sport" package with a Ranger? And because it already had most of the same stuff (other than ranger stripes) it really didn't need it anyway?
The Explorer was different though, correct? All Explorers were Sports, or it could be ordered as a separate package?
I've heard them called Explorers, or Sport Explorers seemingly interchangeably.

Hard to believe so many added the badges, but that must be the case.
Or, more likely I've been looking at them wrong. With that White stripe running nearby and the chrome trim just above, maybe I just never noted the difference.

I know a buddy's Orange w/orange '77 1-owner Ranger is a non-Sport badge truck.
Now I have to go check my other buddy's White w/blue '77 2-owner truck! I thought his was sporting the sport badge.
Preparing my mind to be surprised again...;)

Thanks again.

Correct - the Sport and Ranger packages were separate packages and the Ranger wasn't an 'add-on' to the Sport package.

Explorer was different package as well. It was an add-on to the Sport and base models in '72, but only the base model in '73-'74 or '76.
