Welcome aboard... Nice rig for sure.. Won't hurt to repair those bad spots. Go with that thought of just painting the replacement panel. Make sure brakes, all the mechanicals are good and go drive that thing

U won't have no issues selling it I'm sure if you decide to do that one day

My end goal for this truck is to have a nice original driver. I spent a couple days polishing out the original paint and it came back to life very well. My biggest question is this...
Will it hurt the value of this truck being very virgin, to replace the quarter/rocker. Obviously at that point it would have non original paint on those panels. Then that begs the question, paint the whole truck at that point?

Personally i would prefer to replace the panels and paint just those panels keeping the rest original. Eventually i will sell this truck, would YOU rather have some cancer and an untouched truck or a clean driver with a couple painted panels.

.. Since you know how to do the repair work. AFTER YOU'VE DONE IT. You'll know the local painters . Between you & them you can most like find one of them that'll be old enough the blind in & match the org finish. I've been away from the painting world too many years .. SO I no longer know the different kinds of paint.
.. But back when I had my paint store I still mixed Lacquer paint . I don't believe they sell Lacquer any longer. But I could have match & Hide those repairs.
... so fIND ONE OF THE OLD PAINTERS.
...... WELCOME ABOARD . You'll like the Bronco so much you'll end up keeping it. Especially after going to s Bronco meet.

Iv'e never seen floors that pristine as compared to the rest of the panels.

I would repair the rust in it, whichever way you decide and repaint the whole thing. As far as it's gone in places it's not going to matter much to a buyer that he's getting a rust free survivor in the first place.

I'm a little skeptical on it being original paint. Although Ford factory paint isn't great that paint looks awful for original.

Figured i would update this. I started with the intention of just repairing the rust and painting that specific panel and calling it good. Well once i fixed one thing i couldn't stop and I ended up fixing the whole truck. Dent pulled all the dings, sanded out all the scratches, cut out all the rust, polished all the chrome. I did a little everyday while i was in-between jobs at work. Thankfully I've got a cool boss who let me keep it at the shop the last month and a half.
The LT quarter and door had been repainted but the rest of the truck was original paint including the hood. Not sure why it was so dry...

Anyway this was very fun for me, way better than fixing smashed BMW's! I ended up going with single stage paint. Color sanded, buffed and polished the whole thing. Im very happy with how it turned out, somehow the list of things i wanna do keeps growing though.

No pics of it all washed up so there is dust and finger prints on it!

On a side note, i figured this would be a perfect time to put a ceramic coating on it. Any one had any experience with it? Ive never done it before. Recommendations on what brand to buy?

Hello all,
Will it hurt the value of this truck being very virgin, to replace the quarter/rocker. Obviously at that point it would have non original paint on those panels. Then that begs the question, paint the whole truck at that point?

Paint depends on the buyer, but I don't know a single person who WANTS rust/cancer.

That's what gives the original metal/paint its value. It's only original ONCE.
I'd replace the metal and paint as close to the original/current condition color.

At some point "original " is not an option. We have to be allowed to replace body panels like we would engine parts or even brake shoes. Once you've replaced any part it's not "original ". Fix it. Paint it. Enjoy it.
