The challenge/opportunity for BCA is going to be how to integrate Classic and New Broncos. Sure a lot of us here will buy the new Bronco IF it meets our expectations of honoring the the original design AND is a serious competitor to the Wrangler. We understand the rich Bronco heritage. Many (most?) buyers of the new Bronco will be either former Jeep owners or people brand new to the off-road community. The opportunity we (early Bronco enthusiasts) can greet them and introduce them to the Bronco community. The challenge is how do we do this? How does 1 club - BCA - do this?
One difference with MCA vs BCA is that Mustang has been in continuous production since 1964. There is a huge gap in Bronco production.
I think this will be a good discussion point. Anybody have any thoughts on this?
I think Ford definitely has a better grasp on the Mustang customer. The problem Ford has now is they have not been catering to the Bronco and off-road customer for so long, they have lost the connection with that audience. I think what Ford is doing with this Bronco club is trying to gain back the relationship that they haven't focused on since '96. They want to tap in to that target audience again in order to build the vehicle that the audience will be happy with. Of course, Ford isn't just targeting existing Bronco owners. I think they know that they need to bring something to the table that not only gets Jeep die-hards to switch, but also brings new Bronco and off-road vehicle owners to the party.
50 years ago, there were no "Bronco enthusiasts." There were no "Mustang enthusiasts." Those came with time because the vehicles were so loved. I believe Ford understands they are reviving a classic. They are reviving one of the most loved vehicles of all time, and they are doing it because enthusiasts like the ones on this site have kept it alive for so long. 50 years from now, I'm sure there will be a whole new generation of Bronco lovers. It may not be the sheet metal, 302, cut and weld whatever the heck you want Bronco lovers, but same with the Mustang, is there will be a whole new group of people that take this Bronco to an entirely different level. The fun part will be seeing the bridge that Ford builds to connect both generations. And me being a young guy who respects all the guys on this site, I'm excited to see the effort they're putting in.
