Important information - food @ ocbr

Folks - Corona/Covid-19 the Chinese Flu
whatever name you call it by has touched our lives in every way possible this year. OCBR being on 'GO' is hopefully bringing a little normal to your life.
However, even OCBR has ran into an issue:
IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR OUR BREAKFAST/LUNCH FOOD
VENDOR TO BE AT OCBR THIS YEAR. (we'll still have Taco Night & BBQ)
Some of you know that Jimmy was treated for cancer last year and they have had a couple of other issues that are preventing them from coming. For the last 5 weeks I have tried to find someone who was available and willing to serve our event - which was difficult not knowing how many are coming or how many folks they might need to cook for. I have recruited others to help find someone and we have all come up with - ZERO! I'm hoping by giving everyone a couple of weeks notice that all of you will be good with "BRING YOUR OWN BOLOGNA & BREAD (or whatever you want to fix for your breakfast & lunch). Obviously you can go into town - McDonalds, Subway, Sonic etc. The Dodge Convenience Store just a little ways from The Red Roof has great breakfast biscuits - as well as they do chicken & other items you might like for lunch. They have wonderful coffee. I hope all of you understand and that this isn't a 'deal breaker' for anyone. Hot Springs has Wal-Mart and Sam's - There is also a Target in Bryant Ark for those coming from Little Rock. Ice Chests can be 'parked' at the pavilion to keep them out of hot trucks and ready for you when you come in for lunch. WE WILL STILL HAVE WATER & POP AS USUAL. I know this isn't as convenient as our 'Chuck-Wagon' has been for years, but hopefully it's only for this year. This message will also be posted on OCB Facebook page and I plan to email to all registrations I have received - BUT PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!
Thank you for your understanding and I look forward to seeing everyone in a couple of weeks!

What is the communication being used, CB or GMRS/FRS? I am no longer on Facebook so I may have missed this.

Most of us have moved to uhf/vhf. I don’t know the frequencies. Search the last couple YEARS’ OCBR threads and that’ll give you an idea.

Well, was hoping for a last minute change in circumstances to enable me to make it to OCBR. A change came last week! Unfortunately that change was related to hurricane Laura.

Thank goodness my home only had fairly minor damage. Will need a new roof, some brick work, fence replacement, and yard clean up. Downside was my place of employment was heavily damaged so I'll be spending a lot of time there trying to get back open.

Made me wonder though how many of our EB family up through eastern TX and western LA were effected by the storm? Hoping everyone is OK and safe.

Here at New Boston, we got crazy wind. As in, only about 20 mph max. We had more wind this week as a couple lines of storms moved thru.

Rick this seems to be a reoccurrence. Do we need to move OCBR to another weekend so you can make it?

Good luck brother. Glad it wasn't worst

Would be nice but can't change everyone else's traditions and annual planning. Can't change hurricane season either. Most active part of hurricane season is late August through mid September.

The cards haven’t shuffled right for us this year to get the bronco back on the road. Had a coworker resign in June, started covering that position, then the next week our new baby arrived a week early. Had some unexpected house remodel stuff pop up, per usual when we have babies. Haha. So working on bronco went to the back burner and it won’t be ready. Maybe the boy and I will make it down for a bit on Saturday.

Bummer!

Man, the closer this gets the more annoyed I am that I will have to miss it. You all better post a bunch of pics and videos. At least your odds will be better at the raffle with me not there.
