Im planning to run a soft top but don’t have one yet. What’s the max height of the cage to allow the top to fold down? I’m looking for max height but keeping full soft top functionality.

I have this cage. (Stock image below)

I don’t have a lot of personal experience in this regard, but I’m pretty sure that no currently available soft top is going to fold down over any currently available family cage.
It’s not the main hoop bar height that causes the problem. It’s the rear bars. Whether normal kickers, or a family cage design.

The tops themselves don’t really fold down, like you would expect a convertible to do.
You remove the soft top material from the bows, fold the bows back, then either wrap the top around them, or roll it up and put it aside.
Or something vaguely to that effect.

Since the top bows of the Besttop and Rampage are on a relatively fixed pivot point, the proscribed arc is relatively fixed as well.
Maybe someone has their top off and just the bows mounted, and can measure the arc.
That area inside that arc is what’s going to limit your bar length and height.
Pretty sure that there is no way a top will fold down over that rear cage.

Thanks for the info! I forgot they don’t fold like Jeep tops (sold my last bronco long ago and forgot about that detail!).

Would appreciate any cage dimensions from others that installed full cages as I’ll have to trim the hoop legs during install. I’m going to also visit a buddy to measure the cage inside his truck. Between those numbers and any that come through here, hoping to get that started in next week or 2.
