American auto wire fuse panel mounting location?

I am looking for suggestions for mounting the American auto wire fuse panel. Id like to put it in the glove box but not sure if there is a better location?

I always thought it was too big to mount behind the face of the ashtray, but I think I heard someone said they did that.
Otherwise, about the only other two places that seem to be where people choose, are either on the top part of the center hump, or the drivers kick panel.
The center hump depends on how you have your heater and other items laid out.
The kick panel depends on how you have your parking brake set up, but I don’t think that’s been as big a problem.
The glove box seems to be the most popular.

Under the hood is not completely out of the question. It’s just not as desirable because of exposure to the elements and sometimes lack of room.

I’ll post picture latter but I mounted it where the dash speaker grill is since I have no intention of using it , I made a hinged door with the speaker grill and sheet,,

Hi @DirtDonk I did it once with a '75. Had to cut a bigger hole where the ashtray was (think the speaker might be an option too (cut and fill both ashtray and speaker). It actually worked out great, everything was easily accessible. I don't remember what kind of harness, though.

I mounted mine in the engine compartment, driver's side, on the firewall tucked up where the fender mounts. It is way up high and hood lip protects it from way or snow ingestion. 10 years no problem or corrosion. Mine has a rubber cover over the fuse side to seal it too.

My AAW fuse box is in the glove box and works well, IMO.

One sidenote to all this.
No matter what harness or fuse panel is used, I always replace the fuses with “blow-n-glow“ fuses. Then keep the other ones as spares if needed.
Yes, I end up with a lot of spare fuses!
But seeing a little light come on when the fuse is blown, is a huge time saver, especially when trying to find a fault on the side of the road in the dark.

Some interesting options here. I have a Ron Francis harness and fuse panel to go in mine (once I get that far along), and I recall that the panel is probably too big to fit in the side of the glove box. So I will be looking at some of the other choices shown here. Thanks to all.
