Correct spare tire cover 72 Explorer Sport

There's a lady in British Columbia that makes them... I bought mine a few years ago, sized to fit the 31" tires I'd just put on 'the Expensive Mistress'... not cheap (I think mine was almost $200, but impeccable materials and fit and finish), almost like a white leather jacket for your spare tire.

Take a look in the online 'my garage' photos of my rig - there's one with a slightly wrinkly brand new tire cover for it. Its now tightened up and looks awesome.

Ill see if I can find the ladies contact info tonight when I get off work - hopefully she's still making them.

Would you mind sending it to me too? I thought I had it in my phone saved, but I don’t see it.
And frankly, I don’t think she would mind it being posted up again. Unless she has said otherwise.
It’s been posted publicly here many times before in past years.

I think she's Chopper here on the forum, but it looks like she hasn't been on the forum in a couple years. She is still making covers.

Perfect. Thanks.
Now it’s in my phone. I think I had kept it on a Post-it by the computer before.

Back when I had a small spare, I had an original Explorer tire cover. I had taken off of a friends 72. Loved that cover, but long gone now I think.

So their 72 Explorer did have a spare cover? This is the first confirmation I've seen. I'm going with a black and white Explorer cover, even if it's not "correct". I'm going with slots, but my spare is going on a factory steel wheel so it won't look so great.

The ES came with hub caps, but I don't know if the spare would have had a cap or just plain, or if it got a cover. Weird we still don't know these things.

No hubcaps for spare tires that I know of. Waste of money on FORD‘s part, not needed and was covered up anyway.
It’s possible that there was one, for use without a cover, but I’ve never seen one and it wouldn’t make sense from my perspective.
