255/75/17 is a 32.05" tire
255/80-17 is a 33.06" tire
Who makes a 34x10.5x17?
BFG AT and Toyo both make one. I found a set used for 120$ . I didn't know they made that size either. i figured id try them and use as rollers and see if i need to change the size when i get everything together.

Weekend update, I have cut the old front core support and wheel well to replace with new.
front engine bay.JPG

I have bought a new hood($350)
New passenger wheel well ($150)
Used 4pt roll bar $200
FLC110 clear coat kit $60
as well as a a few odds and ends.

I have been finishing up on metal work, hopefully soon having all the rear floor and front floor pans done.

Next up is making a fuel filler flip down bracket for the rear taillight.
If anyone has tried something similar, I would love to hear about it or about what parts you used. Im planning on using a JY gas filler door for the hinge and a magnet and push through fill cap from speedway.

Best of luck! I farmed out my body and paint, so that got expensive, but it is near perfect. I did all the chassis work and upgrades. I am past the $80K mark already...

Looks great, Yeah I will be doing everything myself, It won't be perfect but hopefully nicer than my previous two. I am hoping to be able to drive it this summer but am fighting door gaps! I probably will be over budget and then do AC and interior in the winter. Great looking bronco!

Thats awesome, I love the Bajas. I remember seeing one for sale for around 45k back in 2010 and thinking that that was expensive and maybe one day ill be able to get one, its crazy how much they've went up but defiantly worth it. Is that a 347/4r70W thats in it?

I’ve had some progress this weekend. I do still need to mess with the doors more. I did make a taillight fuel filler that is pretty slick. Hopefully a few weekends to final weld and grind then will be on to epoxy primer.

Are you able to box in the fuel filler area from the wheelwell to keep road grime out of there?
Yeah I will have a little filler made for the one side but the factory metal is still behind it so not really worried about it. I’m sure I’ll have to cut a hole to plumb the filler tube but I’m going to wait for it to be one the frame with the body lift.

It appears you have the skills and almost more important, the space and equipment to handle the task of keeping it in the 20Kish range. I'm shocked at how you were able to source your parts to begin with. Then again, I live in SoCal so a rusted out floor pan is about 20K🤣

I know it’s crazy what stuff is going for. I’m in iowa so everything is fairly rusty but a lot cheaper. I’ve been able to flip and part out a few rigs to save a lot of cost. Looking back I wish I would’ve just bought a kit to assemble the body as the only thing left is the cowl and windshield frame. I have my orange bronco for sale locally on marketplace for 26k and no bites. I’m hoping to sell it this spring to finish this one. I’ve been fighting the gaps for 6 months and about ready to just weld it up. I want to drive it this summer.

Mate....that is slick. You can't go posting that without a detailed "how to"...

Thanks man, I can take more pictures when I get back to the shop.

I basically bought this C10 fuel light filler off of Ebay and cut it up. I moved the hinge to right underneath the cap and the made a new taillight piece out of sheet metal that matched the taillight and cut the sides so it fits into the housing. I hope this helps

Hi Guys, I wanted to start off by saying thank you for all the info on here as it had already helped me build 2 Eb's. I wanted to finally document the next one and here it is.

I am starting with a goal of making the best daily driver Eb I can afford with also keeping it on a reasonable budget as I am 29 and doing this on the weekends. Some parts I have left over from previous builds or bought a few years ago and are using them now.

Basic overview of what I have currently and an estimate of what I have spent.

1977 Frame with title - $1900
1976 Bronco Body with alot of new metal included. $2800
Replacement quarters, inner bed, tailgate, and front fenders- $2000
I already had a SB 9 inch and a 1977 Disc Brake front axle.
Fox 2.0 shocks - $200
Used wilwood hydroboost $150
Used 23 gallon Aero tank $100
Deaver 3.5 lift springs $150
Used 3.5 10 pack leafs $100
Rear 9 inch center with 3.50 gears $ 500
Total currently - $7900.

This is a broad overview for what I have currently and where the project starts. It will be a LUBR with 33's and a fuel injected v8 with a 4 speed auto or AX15, i'm just unsure of what combo for now. Colors will be a light green/ tiffany blue with white interior.

Where I am at Currently, only original metal left is the cowl, windshield frame, Door inner shells and hood for now.

Happy to finally have this started and will update as regularlly as possible. I will be doing everything myself besides installing the glass.
Atta boy, You are doing great

Thanks for the link. More photos when you have time would be great. From the photo it looks like the fuel pump gun will be sitting on the tail light when it's filling up?

Is it difficult to open and close the gas cap?

Yeah the nozzle could rest on the taillight. I think i might put a heavier hinge on it and a stop to keep it rigid. I'm going to wait for final finish to permanently install it so nothing shifts during assembly. I also had to cut the original taillight housing lips and brackets off the housing to get it to fit. I will take more pictures when i'm back at the shop.

20K or close to it is possible. I am finishing a 1975 highboy, and have added up receipts totaling $25585. Of that, 2000 is for tools (just tools bought during the project since 2017), $4800 is paint, $1760 in consumables (sand paper, cleaners etc...) I'm sure I've missed a few receipts and parts on my list, but it's pretty close. I bought things I didnt use, broke things I had to replace and basically made lots of mistakes. But its almost done. Oh, the truck was free, inherited from my father.

I could have had my dad's '73 F250 Highboy but it would need way too many parts and hours for me to be interested in the project.
Glad you got yours done for what you did.
