My co-worker Tim showed up to work one day in 1997 or 1998 driving a cut and lifted 1970. I had no idea what it was, but it was one of the coolest things I'd ever seen. I had a 1964-1/2 Mustang at the time that I'd bought in 1995. Despite my knowledge and love of classic Mustangs, I had no idea Ford made Broncos in the 60s. As a kid of the 80s I knew of the full size Broncos and Bronco IIs but had no clue about EBs.

Seeing Tim's made me want one. As my first big post college purchase, I bought my 1969 in 1999. Over the past 27 years I've had probably another dozen EBs come and go, but I still have that 1969 which was my first one.

I still have the 1964-1/2 Mustang from college as well.

Got my first one in '90. High school.
Got really involved in '99 when I got one in AZ. Got to know way too many people in the Bronco world with that.

My first introduction to the Bronco, was the summer of 1975. When I was at a guys place to purchase my first car, a 67 GTO. The guy had a 68 turquoise half cab. Who new at that moment how impactful seeing that Bronco was. In 1978 I purchased my first Bronco. A 1977 all white Ranger. Now, 48 years and five Broncos later. The EB is still my favorite vehicle of all.

Purchased my Bronco February 27th, 2022. Had chances to buy several of them over the years but it just never seemed to work out. Still kick my self over a few of them.

In 1979 I worked in a gas station in town, struck up a conversation with one of our Regulars (full service back then) who had a 76 EB. We always talked Bronco after that. Missed those conversations when I moved on to my first Mechanics job. Always coveted Broncos, but I seemed to find FJ40 Landcruiser's that fit my budget better. I got hired in the fire service in 1985 and purchased a 79. Many great memories in that Rig, but 9-10 mph became a killer when we bought our 1st house in 1989, 48 miles from work, so I sold it. Move forward to 2000, first kid born and the second Landcruiser just wasn't big enough for three folks. I sold it and bought a 75 Bronco on eBay, from Mesquite TX. BIGGEST mistake I have made buying a vehicle, never saw it in person. It was all kinds of pretty, but a mechanical nightmare... That one started the sickness that continues today.
So 40 some years, 2 Gen II's and 8 Gen I's later...

About 22 years ago I suppose. I had to look at the date I joined this site! I'd been a Mustang (and Ford fanatic) since before I was 16 years old but never got into 4 wheel drive or even trucks. I suppose because I was raised by my Mom and never lived out in the country, etc. I was at the Rod Run in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee one spring and then it happened. I saw an early Bronco that was awesome. I can't remember too much about color, etc but it was lifted with great looking rims/tires and as it drove by I thought "That's the best looking thing I've seen down here!" I ran up to the couple driving it and told them that. I immediately started my search for one of my own. Ended up buying a red '77 from an eighty year old man in western Kentucky, joined this site and came up w the ared77 handle. Wish I'd kept that '77.
