Need a starting point measurement, till I can get my doors on, between the top of the fender and where the windshield mounts. I remember less than a 1/4" almost touching is that right?

I hate to say it, but it probably varies by individual Bronco more than we'd like to admit.
And maybe others have it pegged better than me, but I'm not exactly sure where you mean.

You mean between the cowl end where the hinge sits and the bolting flange of the fender? Or the top back edge of the fender?
It's probably obvious, but I wanted to make sure I was speaking the same language. I've got a fender and windshield that's never been removed and a second Bronco stopping by in the morning, so can confirm for you if nobody else beats me to it.

Got a pic of the specific spot you want measured?

the top back corner/edge of the fender, gap between it and the end of the cowl/windshield mount, cowl or windshield mount may not be the right word here but best term I can come up with, off to work for a couple days cant get pics right now.

Hey, sorry it took so long to get back to you. Had a big lunch day out today with some other Bronco-bros and just got back!

Ok, so that's kind of what I was thinking you meant, but wanted to make sure. Looking at that bit, it's almost like a little "pedestal" that the windshield hinge sits on.
Looking at four Broncos, as I figured all four were different. The gaps were from about 1/4" down to zero. Literally the fender touching that bit of the cowl just below the windshield hinge.

Here's my passenger side at about 1/4" approx. In glorious "BPC" (bird poop camo) Fall coloration.
