Anyone own a older Kayline snap top? I'm thinking of buying one from a member on the board. Any pros or cons? I can get the top for $250 including shipping. Is that a good price or should I just pass on the deal? Any input would be great.

Thanks!

Tdubya was yours snap or a track? Any reason why I shouldn't go softtop? Did you have any problems with the top hitting the wiper motor/links?

My Kayline top snaps to a rail that bolts on to the top of the bed rail so the only new holes to drill for snaps are the two in the windshield frame and the ones on the tailgate. When my Bronco was my daily driver I liked the hardtop, but now that its wy weekend toy I like the soft top. I installed the wiper motor drop bracket so no clearance issues there.

I picked up an older K Line a year or so ago and I had issues with the stitching. I had a gal re-stitch a few areas but when I zipped the windows in, another spot tore open. I decided to run it as a safari top and loose the windows and it works well for that. I paid about $250.

Been waiting for my seams to start giving me trouble for years. But they just seem to keep on truckin' along.
Worried that it sits and gets that green moss growing in the little tight spots. So far so good though.

At 19 years and counting...

I bought the used roll-up window Kayline for my 69 hunting rig and the only issue I have is the adhesive holding the Velcro on around the door frame is starting to come apart. Nothing a little Gorilla Glue can't fix.

Wow that's held up well. I have an early roll-up Kayline Fastrac and the seams along the rear bow have ripped on both sides. I've been looking for a replacement top only but can't find one. Rampage is still not selling the fabric alone, at least the last time I checked. But now that I'm in Texas I've just been running the bikini top so I may not ever put the full soft top back on!

Very nice dent side, BTW! ;D

no reason why you shoudn't.. those were easy to install, remove, replace when you wanted the topless drive..

that is a good, fair price according to the market right now

Thanks for everyones help.

Yeah, I've been pretty darn impressed with it. I've kept it clean enough for most of it's life, but the birds finally got it with some acid-rain(!) a couple of years ago and I have a little streak down the back window. It even stripped the black off the the still pristine Kayline label! Pisser!

Been waiting for the windows to yellow one of these days, as it lives outdoors and I just put a cover on it for the first time last week. The windows aren't looking brand new anymore, but they're still super clear for their age. Wanted to keep them that way, so bought the cover.

We'll see if I can get another 20 out of it. If I can get the green lichen and mildew out of the zippers and a few seams, I'll be happy.
