Of course! Everyone hanging with me is typically a flunkySteve, I was thinking about feeling sorry for you when I saw the title…read further…that looks like a GREAT day at an awesome “natural” office space. Do you have an opening for a flunky at your office? Lol
Randy
If it was easy everyone would do itIt just kept getting worse. How do you stand it. I would have given up and gone home.
Thanks for posting those awesome photos for us east coast flat landers.
You’re not that far away…. It is like no place else on earth.Great pictures! Looks like a great time.
My wife and I made a trip to Moab Memorial Day weekend. It was our first trip there, hopefully we can get out there again.
We ran one of my favorites today Poison Spider Mesa. At the trail head I had quite an honor and surprise. I crossed paths with none other than @Nothing Special and his Bride! Was a great chance encounter and got to help him past the spot that caused him to be denied the pleasure of the trail on a previous visit. Hopefully he sees this and posts what I know to be a better pic that his lovely Bride took of us and our broncos![]()
Glad you’re having a great time. Part of my Framily is staying there and we’ve parked there for dinner a couple of times. My truck and trailer have been parked there all week.Hey Yeller, it was great meeting you the other day! And it looks like you're staying right across the street from us! We're in the campground behind the Texaco station, and I'm pretty sure I saw your Broncno in the parking lot of the hotel across the street.
We did finish Poison Spider on Tuesday. I really didn't take any "extra credit" lines, but I didn't take all the bypasses either. I've been wanting to do Poison Spider since that first obstacle turned us back on my first Moab trip 5 years ago, so it was great to check that one off.
The plan tomorrow is Hell's Revenge. We ran that 5 years ago, but didn't hit it on our second Moab trip (in '21) so it sees like time for a refresher.
For some reason I'm not able to post Lesley's picture from Tuesday. I'll try to get it to you later when I have better internet and more time.
looking "Sharp."We'll try with the picture one more time

Steve, I just now realized there was a video. I’m not sure I’ve got enough nerve to go that steep an angle. From construction days, that looks like a “6-pitch roof” steep (27.5 degrees) to me. Do you have an inclinometer in your rig? Or would you rather not know the angle until it’s done and over? lolLittle bit of today’s action. The traction here is always spectacular, but when it’s hot, it was 100* today, it’s like Velcro.
I’d let him borrow my 4 Ft digital level If he’d take me along.Steve, I just now realized there was a video. I’m not sure I’ve got enough nerve to go that steep an angle. So do we need to set a dateSteve, I just now realized there was a video. I’m not sure I’ve got enough nerve to go that steep an angle. Well, alrighty then! The still shot was deceptive at best and did not look that steep…THEN came the video that almost gave me vertigo. Crossing bottomless mud flats or running through mixed hardwood trails is more inline with my abilities and nerves. Just saying I may be a bit of a coward on steep slopes. So do we need to set a date
That slope is closer to 85%maybe more. I need to take the time to learn how to post on YouTube, have a vid of the black buggy coming out of the Car Wash or Devils Hot Tub, it is just guessing at its steepest it is 80 degrees. It’s insane. Also got a still of the action🫣![]()
Believe it or not, it is the minority of the trails that have gravity defying antics, there’s a few with shelf roads, but for the most part the majority of the trails are easy. There’s 1000’s of miles of trails here, and less than 10% have extreme gravity defying obstacles. I always say the wheeling here is not hard under your tires, it’s hard between your ears.Well, alrighty then! I do; however, enjoy seeing videos of y’all rock climb and crawl. I think I’ll be satisfied to live vicariously through the posts here.

I’ve certainly been called hardheaded before.Believe it or not, it is the minority of the trails that have gravity defying antics, there’s a few with shelf roads, but for the most part the majority of the trails are easy. Maybe in the not too distant future I’ll be able to drive my EB out and take you up on the trail (?) ride.I invite people to come with us often, they alway say their rig isn’t built up enough, missing a locker or need bigger tires. A stock bronco will easily do the majority, even the Uber popular death defying Hells Revenge, what do you think they were driving when they cut it? A stock CJ2a. Just to prove my point, here’s proof in the attached pic.
Reliability is far more important than ability.
Keep sharing the pics, she might come around. Here’s a few of places that is AWD crap box rental suv doable. And I say AWD suv for just a bit more ground clearance and the ability to deal with gravel and a bit of sand. I have been hundreds of miles out here in my dually.Been looking at some of the pics and video this morning. Even as remote and barren as it is, there’s some pretty spectacular scenery. Now I’m thinking that I could drive on those…well, at least SOME of them.
Starting to plan a road trip. Getting the wife on board may take some time. lol
Randy
Here's a video with an amazing variety of scenery. San Rafael Swell. Hidden Splendor Road and Reds Canyon. Around 5:00 min it really gets interesting. Good vid with a stabilized camera. Has to be amazing in person.Been looking at some of the pics and video this morning. Even as remote and barren as it is, there’s some pretty spectacular scenery.
