As I recall the b/h for a 250 isn't the hard part, it's the flywheel and the oil pan.
If you're a decent fabricator even the oil pan isn't all that difficult. I've built a number of them over the years. Speedway Motors used to sell an oil pan baffled sump kit intended for SBC oil pans, but could be adapted to other pans with a little imagination, but I've even built one from an 8' fluorescent light fixture (it was what we had and was within the budget) to put a KA engine in a 510.
