I'm trying to figure out which model my 73 bronco is. I keep running into conflicting information. Here's a quick description of some of the trim items. Pinstripes on fenders, hood, quarter panels, rockers, doors and end gate. 5 chrome strips on hardtop. Chrome on fenders, doors, rockers, end gate, head and tail lights. 7 holes in fenders for badge. There is no Ranger badge on glove box but apparently not all Ranger models had that? Could it be a Sport model?

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hard to say without pics, but could very well be a late 1972 Ranger, they did not have the emblem on the glovebox door. Probably the easiest way to tell is whether the dash is parchment or body color. If body color, it's a ranger (or Explorer), if parchment, it's a Sport.

A Ranger will have metal tabs welded on the wheel wells and floor. The trim panels attach to these.

Sounds like you have a late '72 built '73 ranger. Look at your build plate or order a marti report to see the options your truck has. Post some pics too.

Dash is body color. Thanks

And in the VIN, is the sixth digit a “P“ or a “Q“? Should be a Q, but we’re always interested in the transition.

What okie is saying MVL, is that there is very limited information in the VIN of our older trucks. Just the basics, but zero option, color or other information.
That's why the "warranty plate" (aka VIN tag) on the glovebox door is key. Lots of good info on that one piece.
The "GLQ6" is just the build plant, engine size, then the build sequence. The "Q" meaning it was officially registered as a '73 in the beginning. A "P" would have been officially a '72, though some were made out of sequence.
Check out Viperwolf1's thread "Mind Your P's and Q's" here on the forum. I'll post a link later if you don't find it right away.
Add your info if you can, to see where you fall within the Q category.
