This year's Scottsdale Barrett Jackson auction has concluded, bringing Arizona's "Auction Week" to a close. This year brought another strong number of trucks for auction in the Grand Canyon State - I didn't check numbers but I was told there were about 50 at this year's auction. Continuing trends from previous years - most were pretty decent builds and the vast majority had a Coyote engine under the hood. I didn't see one stock rig this year or anything with a six cylinder in it.

Contrary to what I've seen in some social media posts, sale prices were definitely down this year as compared to the last few years, with most of the real nice rigs selling in the $100-$160K range with a few outliers in the upper tiers - there were at least 2 4-door rigs that sold well north of $200K. Contrast this to the past few years where more rigs were in the $200K+ range and at least one sold for over $400K. I saw one truck this year that sold for $30K and based on what I saw, I thought it represented a pretty good value at that price point.

Attached are some pics I took of the various rigs we saw over the course of several days.

"Interesting" dual shock mount on one truck. The yellow truck wins the "value" award this year for a $30K sale. The blue uncut wagon with the 7.3 IDI diesel formerly belonged to @hyghlndr here.

And another reason auctions like this can be so fun - hanging with your Bronco brothers that come to town to have some fun. For this weekend, we had Chad (@clarrance) - who sold his awesome 74 F250 at the auction, Tim (@eaglenest66), Jack (@broncojack) and yours truly, pictured here with a great AZ sunset at the Pavilions car show on Saturday evening.

The Bronco community has some great folks in it and these guys are the best!

Always great to check out these photos.

The one in #2 looks really nice but those rear fenders are on borrowed time!

I think the one in pic #7 is a Fat Fender Garage build.

It's been a half dozen years since I was last there. Looks like the quality is going up. But good to see ... highly questionable?... modifications are still for sale. Clearly they are hiding those new fancy bump stops inside that double shock install. Need to go back and look for my favorite feature I always find, household wire nuts. I could always find some on a Bronco.

I think that's true. That truck was built by a local builder and due to its beauty/build quality will likely never encounter anything more serious than a speedbump.

Yes, it is. And it was a very well-built rig.

I didn't see any wire nuts this year but I imagine there could've been some. Here's a few photos of one rig that I noticed. Not sure if the tailgate just wasn't slammed all the way shut or if the fitment was just that bad.

I watched some of it. What surprised me was that it seemed as though Blazers are now bring more than Broncos. Is that the new trend?

The 67-72 trucks that are high-$$ builds have been doing very well at B-J the past few years. I don't track their #'s enough to know if it's a trend in general or not, but they do sell very well compared to the EBs at B-J.

Went on Friday and saw most of them. More and more Im hearing from bidders that Mecum is the place to sell and Barrett is the place to buy. Kissimmee Mecum is now twice the size of BJ Scottsdale?!

The yellow one was sold by a buddy who only an hour earlier sold his Corvette for $245K so I don't think he minded. It had some paint issues but was still a solid buy at that price.

Met and chatted with the guys from Venice Broncos who were hoping for $100K+ on the blue diesel swap but it went for under $80K.

Was shocked to walk in and see the orange one cross the block for $45K. Looked at it after it sold and still think someone got a great deal. 306CI motor too

Could have been the steps that did it in! Is this the one with the odd double shocks?

Talked with the Venice guys as well - they seemed totally unaware of the Venice Broncos business that existed in the late '80s (until they moved to AZ and became Vintage Broncos). I realized later that I think I was talking to David Young, who has sold a lot of Broncos online over the years but who I thought was based in the San Diego area.

I saw one truck this year that sold for $30K
Did you happen to get a pic of this one, so we know what a $30k B/J Auction Bronco is looking like this year? Just curious..... Thanks, Todd!

Never mind, just saw it was the yellow one... Any more pics of it though?
