Ok I feel bad about bashing Gateway. I didn't mean to, but I figured if you're spending $100,000 on a Bronco, the body should have a little more attention to it. That's me. Talking to both Gateway and Velocity, it seems Gateway's customers are more focused on
time - 2 month wait to get their Bronco, as well as
mechanics - all their mechanical is good quality. I know my painter is on month 2 for mine and he's only now finished the fine tuning of my body work, which was 3/16 inch gaps and mostly laser straight to begin with. It needed work because of the door seals and not square after market hood. he's block sanding to make it perfect. Gateway's customers trade quality bodywork for time. Velocity trades time for quality. I'm more of a Velocity type customer. To each their own and best of luck to them both.
I leave the details of the Broncos in the auction to Jeff. We saw them all and most were medium quality to fine restorations. I was disappointed the yellow/orange with tan flairs (the picture isn't what the color looks like in person) only got $50,000. It was a quality build compared to some of the others I saw, but it didn't have A/C or a top, and was a few years old restoration, along with being sold on a Thursday. A C10 that went up around the same time with a similar restoration (but just completed) with A/C and a slightly better paint job got $100,000. Maybe non-stroppes have peaked.
