He says "I love this heep, even though my name is Ford!" Come on Ford, you need to come out with an awesome Bronco ad! Maybe a history lesson showing how heep started as a Ford, then showing some of our stock and modded EB's and then all the way to the newest versions!!!
The Bronco is way too manly for Harrison.

My understanding is that the GPW designation was spoken as GEEP and it got, as Calvin said, transmogrified to get the spelling of Jeep. Or so the story goes.

Randy
Yes, interesting how GEEP would be closer sounding. I thought of gyp and how it sounds. Searching geep I found there is such a thing as a sheep crossed with a goat. Somehow never ran across that before but I could see someone using goat or particularly mountain goat in reference to the early 4wd’s. I don’t know about the sheep part of it though as far as a connection. Quite a few modern acronyms using GEEP. Have the GOAT mode in the new Broncos now of course. Studying military history you do run across a lot of phrases, slang or acronyms that have come from there for various reasons.

On icy roads with the stock tires, same thing, look out! 😵‍💫 I think the Regal with the Turbo T package was somewhere around 13 or 14. Seemed like a lot of bang for the buck back then. I don’t remember how much the GN added. Difference was wheels, rear spoiler, interior with bucket seats / center console, badging, etc. as I recall.

GNX had a better turbo with a bit more boost, upgrades in the inter-cooler, ported and polished heads, chip to go with those and, again, different wheels. Interior package and badging, etc. A lot of money for what it amounted to, but I think a lot of it was outsourced.

Something interesting I remember was that you could not get electric seats in a Regal with the Turbo T package. Strange quirk that we never found a reason for. It had 60/40 front seats.

Those cars did have some turbo lag in that era, unlike the superchargers. Sounds like todays are improved!
The rapper (Kendrick Lamar) is super super into grand nationals. Not my favorite looking ride, but I can appreciate the art of it.
