Ha

Sturdiest door hinge post repair ever

And the striker post with the bolt welded in the corner is classic

I knew when I bought this rig many years ago it had quite a bit of bondo

But since I’d never owned a bronco before I never noticed the door posts were flat and didn’t have the little humps on them ,
Until a few years later when I was looking at other broncos at a get together and somebody pointed out that my doorposts were odd

Holey (pun intended) sheet metal, Batman! I’ve done some pretty sketchy fabrication in the past but that’s in a class all alone.

Hell I did post repairs like that in my younger days on an old farmers bronco so his door would work.

Love the part where they used a cutting torch to make the holes for the hinge .

Mine came with 1/4" plate welded in the floors. Not going to rot out again at least. :)
Had to drill hole in it to get to bolts for body lift.

What is the falcon wagon doing over in the back?
It’s just resting

It got
A new lower cowl

That was a lot of work
Remove fenders hood and pull windshield , drill oit a million spot welds and remove upper cowl , cut out rust in lower cowl, make new replacement panels and install them and Reassemble

And the Windshield leaks after we just installed it so gotta pull it again and use some More sealer

It’s a fun ride , has a hot 302/c4 and holly efi and vintage air AC

Probabaly gonna sell it since it doesn’t get driven much anymore

I like the wood Rocker panel!
It “wood” last longer than the origional rocker

My truck is a 74 and The factory one was repaired with rolled up paper and bondo between 1990 and 1992 and I assume the hinge posts were replaced with the 3/8 steel plate at the same
Time .

the DSO for my truck was Jacksonville Florida so that may explain how it rusted so quickly

But the rest of the truck is virtually rust free to this day , the door hinge posts and rockers and floors rusted to nothing before the truck was 15 years old .
