The Bronco has landed and she’s rusty. Lots of sheetmetal work in my future…

I have always wanted a Bronco and someone local is doing a body swap for all new sheetmetal. He sold me a fairly complete Bronco minus frame, drivetrain and axles. This is mainly going to be a sheetmetal repair thread. Lots of rot everywhere. Doors and windshield frame have been replaced already, Tub is going to need a lot of work. Have a connection that has frames and titles so eventually that will happen but for now I have my work cut out for me.

The area where the rear wheel wells mount and the bed mounts to the area rear of the seats are held together with hopes and prayers

Lots of rot, but I’ve repaired worse on my 67 Camaro.

And…more rust. Believe it or not this is a California Car. Most of rust comes from top down.

Haven’t seen any recently, but they do come up now and then.
Don’t hesitate to extend your search at least to adjacent states though.
Doesn’t have to have originally been sold in California, of course. But I wonder if it makes easier to re-register if so?

How’s the door hinge posts ?

That’s the hardest part

The floor is easy breezy compared to the door hinge post

Believe it or not this is a California Car.

I grew up two miles from the ocean in Northern CA. I would read car magazines and wonder what the heck everyone was talking about with CA cars. The ones in my neighborhood rusted into dust. Crazy how 50-100 miles to the interior of the state can make such a difference.
