    Sandblasting frame with body on?

Thanks for the responses I want to thank each of you for your helpful thoughts. I believe I'll pass on the blasting now and use hand-held mechanical processes to remove material and then try the products mentioned (POR-15, chassis saver, etc). My goal is to just 'stop the clock' on the...

    Sandblasting frame with body on?

Well, I have an opportunity to borrow a friend's professional grade sandblaster (with tow behind air compressor) but I'm not ready to do any frame-off project right now. I was thinking about at least blasting as much as I can (frame and other underside panels) and apply a really good chassis...

MEB- Luch at the Lube, Jan 19th 2013 Richmond Va.

Broncodriver99, thanks for your comments. My truck has no body lift and only about one inch suspension lift. The tires are 31s. It's so funny, I'm a newb and sitting in my driveway I keep thinking my truck is high, but when I park next to all the others, it looks so modest in height.

Photos 1 of 3 xcntrk, I really like your truck. The color is great! I've got some great photos and I'm going to post them here in a few different posts. My 1977 is the first one in the bunch.

My family of fords, what's yours look like!

Family Love the photos being posted in this thread. Here are mine. Not pictured here is a 1957 T-Bird. It's been in our family since 1959 and has now passed to us. I hope I can take credit for the Cobra. I put a lot of Ford DNA in the build.

Fireball, I have a lot of friends that race Spec Miata. Great cars. I also love Road Atlanta. I was lucky enough to finish 2nd there a few months ago. Wow, I feel like I'm highjacking my own thread! :)

Headliner Another few responses. I got the headliner from BC Broncos. I thought $79.95 was a great deal. I reused my old trim pieces. Regarding my other hobby, yes I'm 2.5-hours from VIR and that is by far my most attended track in the US, followed by Watkins Glen. I started on Pole this...

Photos of my family cage project

Hello Fireball05 and a few others. Here are some responses. The roof rack was already installed when I got the truck so I don't know any details. It seems to be aftermarket and I like it too. I would say I got a 25% or better improvement in sound as a result of my efforts. I still need to do...

How did you mount your seat belts? I'm using prelude seats

seat belts Here are a few thoughts. First I wonder if you can abandon the big metal bracket and bolt the upper U-turn piece to the roll cage upright and then bolt the retractable mechanism down on the floor or lower on the cage. It all depends on how much excess belt there is in the spool to...

More... My final note pertains to reattaching my top. I had a unique situation where I had to install my speaker panels before I could install my cage (because the clearance was so close) and therefore I couldn't use the stock nut / bolt combination to attach the top. This gave the excuse to...

More... Finally I added medium density roll bar padding in areas where there could be head impact and I reinstalled the cage in the truck. I also replaced my original headliner with a new part and the top fit nicely on top of the roll cage with no interference (thanks to careful measurements...
