Anyone have a DD with a wooden steering wheel? Considering one, but never driven with one. Would hate to shell out a bunch of cash and then wish I had gone with leather.
I'm running one, not a daily driver but drive it every chance I get. I had a smaller diameter Grant style wheel & hated it, too small. Got it at Summit, can't remember the diameter. I love it, has a classic look and is comfortable.
Don't have a great picture but you can see it in these.
I've got one on my '68. Not a daily driver, but I have driven it quite a bit. It's a stocker with power steering. I like it. What is your concern about the wood?
Thanks guys! I was mainly curious whether they are comfortable on longer drives. But everyone seems happy with their wheels, so I assume there is no issue.
I like the wooden steering wheels too as they are usually a little bigger than the typical little Grant wheel. I just don't think a small (14" or so) steering wheel is a good idea in our eb's.
