Which hydroboost with BC angled bracket?

Thanks mp....I am not certain if the BC bracket has the same dimensions as the stock one. However, the bracket actually has oval-shaped holes for some minor rotational adjustment of the brake booster. Hopefully, this will allow for easier alignment of the Astro hydro unit.

Which hydroboost with BC angled bracket?

Has anyone fit a hydroboost on a BC angled bracket? If so, what hydro year, make, and model did you use? I found plenty of Astro hydro units at my local junk yard, but I do not know if they will fit. Is there a specific hydro I can mount to the BC bracket without using 1" spacer? I would...

Bogging down then backfiring: Advice please?

I recently had similar problems, especially when my engine was under load (accelerating, driving uphill). After replacing the plugs, wires, distributor vacuum advance, I finally switched out my coil. All problems were solved. Hope this helps

    Vapor Lock?

Good question Kenny. I will be sure to check out my radiator as well. I have not had time yet to look for the problem. Hopefully by this weekend I can spend some good time resolving the dilemma.

    Vapor Lock?

I just spoke to a knowledgeable mechanic and described my situation. He said that it may not be vapor lock due to the fact that my engine would pretty much stall if it was. He did mention that water can easily penetrate the spark plug boots and distributor cap, which will cause electrical...

    Vapor Lock?

Thanks for all of the great feedback guys! I wonder if my problem can be attributed to an overheating coil or bad distributor. I have driven my bronco in much worse stop and go traffic on even hotter days and I never had any vapor lock problems. I may have a bad electrical problem, which...

    Vapor Lock?

Interesting. I filled up my primary at a Chevron right before the border. I have never filled my tank there before. I wonder if there is a difference in fuels from different locations? Although, when I was experiencing the problems with the fuel from my primary tank, I immediately switched...

    Vapor Lock?

Here is the scenario: I occasionally drive my bronco into Mexico, from San Diego. I have performed the trip numerous times without any problems with my Bronco, with the exception of my left leg about ready to fall off due to my mechanical clutch and stop and go traffic, at the border. Last...

Hydraulic Clutch: What size master cylinder

Great info 76Broncofromhell! How stiff is the 3/4" compared to the stock mechanical linkage? The .700" bore MC is starting to sound pretty good. It seems to be the best combination for pedal pressure and travel. Did you have any trouble mounting the clutch master cylinder to brake booster...

Hydraulic Clutch: What size master cylinder

Thanks 4x4man514 and BwoncoHowie, BwoncoHowie: Where exactly would you recommend I mount the slave cylinder on the engine or bell housing? From the tech article, it seems that the transfer case crossmember or the frame, behind the bellhousing, is the best location. Thanks for your input I...

Hydraulic Clutch: What size master cylinder

Thanks Cory, Great tech article by the way. How firm is the 3/4" bore? Is it less firm than a stock mechanical linkage? I am looking for a softer pedal feel due to occasional heavy traffic driving. Should I go with the 5/8" bore? Thanks, Ed

Hydraulic Clutch: What size master cylinder

Hi everyone, I am planning on installing a hydraulic clutch in my Bronco. What size bore master cylinder should I purchase? The tech article suggests the 0.75 bore, but I am curious as to how different the pedal pressure feels between the 3/4", 0.7", and 5/8" bore? Also what is the best and...
