    1966 Bronco 170 motor - Looking for a 9 3/8 clutch disk

I have a 9 3/8" clutch in my '74 Bronco with a 200 inline six. When I replaced mine last year, I found a perfectly rebuilt clutch disk from Clutch Masters in Billings, MT. You might want to give them a call...(406) 256-9110. Believe me, that disk is hard to find.

CA remote control mirror, air cleaner, chrome, original rubber mat and miscellaneous parts

I'm not sure what you mean when you say the door bracket is broken on the remote mirror. Beware if the fix involves trying to remove the cables that control the mirror. The pot metal where the cables attach to the remote toggle on the door's interior are an exercise in prayer. It is a real...

    SOLD Dash from my '74

Ah, I had forgotten about that. There was a disconnected cable in that location, which would have been a throttle. I removed it completely when I replaced my dash.

    SOLD Dash from my '74

For sale is the dash I removed from my '74. Since the original owner cut the dash to install an 8-track player, I replaced it with another uncut one. There aren't any dents in it, nor is there any rust or bondo. The radio cutout was done poorly, in that his cuts caused a bit of "waviness" in...

    Dana 20 missing shim pack

Damn! That's brutal and completely maddening! I've lost count of the number of times something went south on me while doing what should be a simple repair. I frequently think of the sign a friend has in his shop. "Every 20 minute job is one broken bolt away from becoming a 3 day ordeal."

    Dana 20 missing shim pack

Thanks! I just crawled under there again and was cleaning the surfaces to put a little sealer on the cover. Lo and behold, while I was cleaning the case surface, a pair of shims popped loose from the crud. I would have sworn there weren't any present, but I'll chalk this up to "male pattern...

    Dana 20 missing shim pack

Yesterday I removed the rear cover plate for the front output shaft on my Dana 20 and I immediately noticed that there weren't any shims installed. I had removed the 4-bolt cover because there was a small amount of oil weeping from the cover and I was going to put a thin layer of sealer between...

    170 rear main seal

I replaced the rear main on my 200 cid, inline 6, but I did it by pulling the motor. It wasn't that bad and it was sooooo much easier to work on with it on a stand than laying on my back fighting everything. Perhaps not what you wanted to hear....

    original paint broncos

I hear you, and I best not jinx things! I’ve gone through it with a pretty fine tooth comb this past year. New head gasket, rear main and front seal, oil pan gasket, new axle seals, lube locker front and rear axle gaskets, etc., etc. I watch this thing like a hawk…perhaps too much.

    original paint broncos

Thanks! It has 110,000 original miles and runs like a top. It doesn't burn a bit of oil and after I replaced the rear main seal, there isn't a leak to be found.

    original paint broncos

'74 original paint Here's my '74 with its original candy apple red paint. It was quite oxidized when I got it but it now has a phenomenal shine to it. Amazing what taking clay to the paint will do.

Ideas on this wire under dash??

I think I got the image from Seabiscuit. I don't have larger images, as I just expand his originals depending on whatever electrical part I'm working on. All the credit goes to him.

Ideas on this wire under dash??

    It's for the radio.

Are the 78/79 Bronco knuckles wider?

I did a knuckles-out conversion on my '74, with the donor knuckles coming from a '78 Bronco. I didn't have to install different steering components, aside from this tapered shim/sleeve from TBP: https://www.tomsbroncoparts.com/product/tapered-knuckle-shim-for-f150-knuckle-conversion-each-new...

    Gear oil

Congrats on retirement; 'tis wonderful! Thought I'd mention the safety issue after seeing some really poor stand alternatives (e.g., cinder blocks). Sounds like you're going the same route that I did. I worked the front end first (with a disc brake conversion) and just now got to the rear...

    Retrosound in-dash speaker

I still had the original wooden frame that was covered with the grill cloth, so the install was pretty easy. Of course that's relative since there isn't that much room back there. Without the OEM wooden frame, it would be easy to fabricate something, and I would have done just as Brian...

    Gear oil

I'm good at creating work for myself......and others. I rebuilt my rear drum brakes but you may not need to. The only other part I needed was a 1/8" NPT tap, and a 1/8" NPT plug. You may decide to forego that part but I was glad I did it. Here are the posts that took me down that path (mine...

    Gear oil

I HATE leaks so I may be the wrong person to ask. That said, it wasn't too difficult to do and I now know exactly when my rear axle was serviced. The third member is about 70 pounds and a bit awkward, but lifting it out and putting it back were the hardest part...and still not that bad. Here...

    Gear oil

I'm assuming your leak is where the third member bolts up. I just rebuilt my rear drums and decided to replace the wheel bearings and seals. I went with a Lubelocker gasket for the third member. Sealed up perfectly without any additional sealant. Edit: While I had everything apart, I also...
