Windshield Support

Just removed the hard top and I am going to run a bikini top with a rear roll bar. I am worried about support for the windshield. I already put in new pads between the door and the windshield, but there is a gap and I think the windshield will flex when driving.

Has anyone come up with a support for the windshield when not using a front roll bar. Seems like something could be attached to the door that supports the windshield.

Thanks.

I had the same problem. I used a bow from a tonneau cover and drilled through the roll bar for a drop down bracket and used an "L" bracket on the front, works slick and you can't see it.

I did basically the same thing that people do with the front roll bar. I used the short turnbuckle welded to a length of 1" square tubing and welded to the main hoop. The turn buckle eye slips over the top/riser bolts from the bottom. Covered the whole thing up with 1" pipe insulation and looks like reg roll bar tubes, easy to adjust alignment w/ doors on and gives support w/ them off.

I did similar except used full sized roll bar tubing that I fully welded when I did the roll cage. L-bracket on the front bolted to the windshield. Covered w. padding from Jegs so when I hit my head it doesn't hurt as much. Someday I'll get the matching front hoop from Complete Offroad.
